INVENTOR )sydney n. Paftersan ATTORNEYS Patented Oct. 28, 1930V The present invention pertains to a novel means for attaching casket handles, particularly referring to caskets of the type which are expected to be hermetically sealed. i

The primary object of the present invention is to overcome the problem arising from the difliculty of attaching the handles of met-U al caskets so that the latter maybe hermetically sealed. It is the common practice to drill holes in the casket and bolt the handles in place or by sweating or soldering a panel in place to accommodate the handleV bolts. ln both cases the body of the casket is cut or perforated and regardless of the use Vof l5 both cement and solder it is found by practice that after a period of time the solder or the cement give out and cause a leak.

A secondary object of the present inven- 1 i tionvis to provide a means for attaching hanf dles to a hermetically sealed casket whereby the handles lie flush With thesides of the cas-V ket and are securely attached thereto Without employing bolts or such means to pass through the Walls of the casket.

With these and other objects in view my invention is fully set forth and' more particularly pointed out inthe appended claims,
