My invention relates to mop wringers, and it consists in the constructions, arrangement and combination of parts herein described and claimed. An object of my invention is the provision of a mop ywringer incorporated as an integral part of the water-pail, and whereby a part of vthe wringer constitutes the bail of the vessel. A further obj ectv vof the invention is to y provide a base for the pail which also acts as a pivot upon whichthe foot treadle is mounte A still further object of the invention is to provide a mop wringer in which the wringer rollers are brought into cooperative relation by simple levers and foot treadle.

In carrying out my invention I provide a receptacle 1 which may be of any well known construction, but having the bottom 2 disposed a distance from the supporting edgel 3, thereby providing a recess 4. The edge 3 is provided with notches' 5 upon opposite sides,
for a purpose which will now be explained. The receptacle is preferably ormedfrom sheet metal. Y*
In order to provide ample support for the receptacle 1, I provide a projecting support 6. The projecting support`6 is formed from a single strand'of heavy gauge wire, the wireL being bent intermediate its ends to provide a treadle pivot 7, having integral portions 8 eX- tended .into contact with the outer surface of the edge 3. Each end of the wire is'next bent to form foot portions 9, the terminal portions of the wire being bent into circular formation andzpositioned within the recess 4 by virtue of its entrance through the notches 5'. The projecting support 6 may be secured in its position upon the receptaclein any approved manner, as by welding or soldering.`

with his other toot he depresses the footboard 22. Such downward movement of the foot-board pulls upon the arms 21 which in turn. swings the handle 15 toward the trough 11. Continued movement of the treadle will conline the mop between the rollers 13 and 16, and it will be apparent that the degree of pressure upon the treadle determines the amount of squeezing action established between the rollers. Pressure being retained upon the rollers, the handle of the mop is drawn outwardly, causing'the strands of the mop to be compressed between the rollers, thereby expelling the water therefrom.
Release oit pressure upon the foot-board 22 permits the handle 15 to be again swung into upright position, so that the receptacle 1 may be moved from place to place, as the occasion arises.
I claim:-
1. A mop wringer comprising a receptacle, oppositely disposed ears secured upon the upper edge thereof, abail pivoted in said ears and being bent to provide laterally projecting eyelets, a roller carried upon said bail intermediate said eyelets, said receptacle having atrough arranged in a plane parallel to said roller, a roller journalled in said trough, a projecting support for said receptacle, a treadle pivotally mounted thereon, having diverging arms pivoted in said eyelets, whereby upon operation of said treadle in one direction the first named roller will be swung into operative relation with said first named roller.
2. A mop wringer, comprising a receptacle having a circular base, a single strand of wire having its terminal portions bent into circular formation andfsecured to the base of said receptacle, a treadle mounted upon said wire intermediate said ends, a roller mounted adjacent one side of said receptacle, a swingable bail carried upon the upper edge of said receptacle and having oppositely disposed eyelets, a roller mounted upon said bail and arranged between said eyelets, and a U-shaped frame member pivoted upon said treadle and having diverging arms for engagement in said eyelets, whereby upon movement of said treadle in one direction said rollers will be brought into co-operating relation.
3. A mop wringer, comprising a receptacle, a projecting support mounted at the base of said receptacle, comprising a single strand of wire having an elongated rectilinear portion, mop wringer means mounted on said receptacle and a treadle for actuating said mop wringing means mounted on said rectilinear portion,.said rectilinear portion extending eoincidently with the axis of rotation of said treadle.
