of fabric, and in this connection, yet another aim is to make unique provision for providing reinforced tabs to which a sanitary pad may be plnned without danger of tearing A loose, regardless of the thin nature of the belt.

Yet another aim is to provide a novel and advantageous method for the construction of the belt.

With the foregoing in view, the invention resides in the novel subject matter hereinafter described and claimed, description being accomplished by reference to the accompanying drawing.

Fig. 1 is an elevation showing twosquare pieces of material, preferably handkerchiefs, from which to form the belt.

Fig. 2 is a plan View showing one corner of one of the square pieces of fabric overlapped and secured to one corner of the other piece and illustrating certain other corners of said pieces folded upon themselves to provide reinforcements.

The preferred method of manufacture and details of construction will be herein specifically explained, with the understanding that within the scope of the invention as claimed, minor variations may be made.

The belt is constructed from two square pieces of fabric denoted at 7 and 7 on the drawing, and two rather large handkerchiefs will suflice for these elements. One corner of the fabric piece 7 is overlapped with one corner of the duplicate piece 7 and these overlapped corners are secured to each other by stitching 8, by pinning or in other desired manner. Thus, an elongated fabric sheet is provided having two longitudinal zig-zag edges which meet at the ends of'said sheet. The corners of this sheet disposed at the longitudinal edges of the latter, are folded inwardly upon themselves and stitched or otherwise secured to ments 9; I

In the condition so far described, the device may be marketed, with directions for folding the elongated sheet upon its longitudinal center 0, or this folding may be done at the factory. When the belt is so attached, the reinforcements 9 constitute. sturdy tabs to which a conventional sanitary napkinmay be secured bysafety pins or the like 11.

The device constructed as described may be easily and inexpensively manufactured and marketed, will be very comfortable to theuser, will produce. no. unsightly bulges in the overlying apparel, may be readily laundered after use and will be generally desirable. As above stated, the details disclosed and the method steps described are preferably followed, but attention is again invited to the fact that variations may be made within the scope of the invention as claimed.

I claim 1. A sanitary belt comprising an elongated sheet of fabric having two zig-zag longitudinal edges defining two substantially square halves for the sheet, said sheet being folded upon itself along its longitudinal center providing a belt whose two halves are substan tially trianguar and adapted for disposition provide reinforce- T at the front and rear of the user, the lower corners of said triangular belt halves constituting tabs to which to attach a pad.

2. A sanitary belt comprising an elongated sheet of fabric having two zig-zag longitudinal edges defining two substantially square halves for the sheet, the outer corner portions of said halves being folded upon themselves and secured, providing reinforcements, said sheet being folded upon itself along its lonitudinal center providing a belt whose two alves are substantially triangular for disposition at the front and rear of the user, said reinforcements being disposed at the lower ends of said triangular belt halves and constituting tabs to which to attach a pad.

3. A structure as specified in claim 1; said sheet being formed from two square pieces of fabric with corner of one overlapped and secured to one corner of the other.

4. A structure as specified in claim 2; said sheet being formed from two square pieces of fabric with one corner of one overlapped and secured to one corner of the other.

5. In a method of producing a sanitary belt; the steps of overlapping one corner of one square piece of fabric with one corner of a duplicate piece of fabric and securing the overlapped corners together to provide an elongated sheet having two longitudinal zig-zag edges, and folding said sheet upon its longitudinal center to provide a belt having two substantially triangular halves.

In a method for producing a sanitary belt; the steps of overlapping one corner of one square piece of fabric with one corner of' a duplicate piece of fabric and securing the overlapped corners together to provide an elongated sheet having two zig-zag 1ongitudinal edges, folding the corner portions of said sheet at said longitudinal edges upon themselves and securing them to provide reinforcements, and folding the sheet .upon its longitudinal center to provide a belt having two substantially triangular halves with said reinforcements at the lower ends of the latter to dconstitute tabs for the attachment of a p i 1 1 In testimony whereof I have hereunto affixed my signature.
