HENRY ITSKIN AND JOHN GREGG, OF ROOKFIELD, INDIANA.
IMPROVEMENT IN SAWFSETS- Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 177.519, dated May 16, 1876; application filed April 10, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that we, HENRY ITSKIN and JOHN GREGG, of Rockfield, Carroll county, Indiana, have invented a new and Improved Saw-Set, of which the following is a specification:
Our invention consists of a set to be used with the hammer, having a wedge-shaped notch in the end, and a gage to regulate the position from the side of the saw, so that by placing the notch on the point of the tooth, and hammering the end 'of the tool, the same as an upsetting gage, the tooth will be set by bending it laterally. There is also an upsetting-notch in the tool to adapt it for both kinds of teeth.
The drawing represents the improved set in two difierent side elevations.
A is the stock; B, the piece fitted to it, and secured by the slide (J, to form the notch for the teeth at D, and E and F represent the gage for regulating the pitch of the teeth from the side of the saw G. The gage is also fastened on the stock by the slide 0.
