A still further object of the invention is the provision of a scraper adapted to be operated from a motor and equipped with elastic belts for the transmission of the motor power to the wheels of the scraper. I

These and further objects and advantages of the scraper according to my invention will become more fully knownas the description thereof proceeds, and will then be specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

As illustrated, the scraper according to my invention comprises two bodies or shoes, an upper one 10, and a lower one 11 having bevelled end faces arranged at an inclination to the plates 12 and 13 respectively of the belt making machines, commonly known as the glue-plates. The operation of the scraper will be clearly understood from the above description, and it will be understood that the operation of lever 33 will press the knives more or less against the glue-plates according to the thickness of the coat thereon to be scraper, while the pistons and springs will provide the necessary yielding during the movement of the shoes along the plates by the motor guided by the roller of the gage rods running on a track;

A. scraper for belt-making machines comprising a pair of shoes, adjustable scraper knives at therends of said shoes adapted to engage the glue-plates of a belt-making machine, means for yielding pressing said shoes andtheirknives against said plates, means for moving said shoes along said plates, and gagemeans for guiding the movement of said '2. In a scraper for the glue-plates of beltmakingmachines, the combination of a pair of wheeled shoes having bevelled ends knives attached to said bevelled ends adapted to engage and scrape the inner faces of two glueplates of a belt making machine, with a avmotor to move said shoes along said plates, said guide comprising a pair ofsockets on the upper face of the lower shoe, a pair of bars laterally projecting from the sockets and adjustable means for locking said bars to said sockets, a bar connecting the outer ends of said laterally projecting bars, a pair of brackets on said bar, and wheels on said brackets adapted to travel along a track beside the scraper.

Ina scraper of the class described a pair of. shoes bevelled outer ends thereon and, knives on'said outer beveled ends, adjustable andadapted to engage the inner faces of the glue plates of a belt-making machine, a motor for moving said shoes and knives along said plates, and elastic belts for'transmitting the rotation of the motor axle to the axles of the shoe wheels, and a bracket for suspending said motor from one o'f said shoes.
