My invention relates to new and useful improvements in a sign, and has for its primary ob ect to construct a device .OftllIS character with three wings, each more than ninety degrees from the other so that one or more of the surfaces will be .visible from any point aboutthe sign. f

Another object of the invention is to construct a sign with three wings so as to provide a plurality of display surfaces, one display surface on each side of each wing, so as to provide six such surfaces, or a surface between each pair of wings so as to provide three such surfaces, which latter are preferably concave. v

A still further object of the invention is to provide for illuminating all of the surfaces from a single source of light.

With these and other ends in view, this invention consists in the details of construc tion and combination of elements hereinafter set forth and then specifically designated by the claims.

In order that those skilled in the art to which this invention appertains may understand how to make and use the same, I will describe its construction in detail, referring bynumerals to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this application, in which:

Fig. 4:, is a front elevation of Fig In carrying out my invention as embodied in Figs. 1 and 2, 5 represents a suitable base, from which projects a standard 6, and

while for purposes of illustration I have shown the base as a part of the standard, it is to be understood that this base may be a cement mass in a hole in the ground or the ground itself.

From the upper end of the standard project three wings 7, 8 and 9, each radiating from the longitudinal or vertical center of the standard, and at more'than ninety degrees apart, so as to'provide surfaces 10 on each side of each Wing, thereby giving six surfaces, on which display information of lamp may shine upon all of the surfaces, and I in order to intensify the said light rays and prevent them from shining directly into an observers eyes, a combined shield and reflector .13 may partiallysurround the lamp, and be supported by the frame 11.

In Figs. 3 and 4, the same general idea is utilized, the display surfaces 14 are suspended between the outer ends of the wings, and therefore said display surfaces are at more than ninety degrees to each other, and are only three in number, andwhile it is not necessary that said surfaces be concave, as

shown in Fig. 3, it ispreferable that they be constructed in this manner.

The other parts of the signs being identical, no further reference will be made thereto. f r

In practice, a sign constructed in accordance with either of the forms herein illustrated, may have advertisements or information displayed on the'surfaces thereof, and when placed at convenient locations, will vbe visible from all directions, and if the advertisements or information displayed is the same on all surfaces, such advertisements or information may be read by anyone passing or'approaching the sign from any angle.

. Of course I do not wish to be limited to the exact details 'of construction, as herein shown, as these may be varied within the limits of the appended claims, without departing from the spirit of my invention.

vHaving thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and useful is:

A sign including a'support, three wings permanently I mounted on said support spaced equi distant apart and radiating therefrom in the same horizontal plane and 2 V l r 1,767,483"

providing a plurality of stationary display surfaces, an arched frame carrying a source of light and secured to said Wings at points spaced from the intersections of said Wings so as to leave the space below the source of light unobstructed, and a combined reflector and shield also supported by said frame to direct the light rays on to the Win surfaces and partially conceal the source 0? light from an onlookers Vision.
