Signs. - In box signs in which an inclined transparent mirror is employed, the box or casing is of glass and the edges of the mirror where they join the glass sides are connected by introducing ornamental or constructional bars, mouldings, grooves, &c. Fig. 4 shows mouldings. 11, 11<a> which support and conceal the edge of the mirror 6 at its junction with the glass side 4. Other non-supporting mouldings may be mounted on the sides 4 to complete an ornamental design. Fig. 5 shows V-grooves 12 in the sides 4 to receive the bevelled edge of the mirror. The mirror may occupy one of two compartments in the casing, and a dividing piece be utilized to conceal one of the horizontal edges of the mirror. Striped, prismatic, chequered, &c. glass may be employed, and the mirror supported in same of the grooves thereof. The sides of the casing may be of any shape, and may be inclined to one another to avoid multiple images. A lamp may be arranged behind the mirror so that its light does not directly strike the mirror. Moving, changing, alternating or flashing devices may be combined with the apparatus. The illuminated stencil or transparency forming the sign legend may be concealed within a recess, or by displayed goods, &c.
