IMPROVEMENT IN GRATEs.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. l 76,560, dated April 25, 1876 application filed February 181876.
To'all whom lit may concern:
Be it known that I, WALTER S. STEVEN- SON, of the city of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improvement vin Basket- Grates. for Stoves., which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification, reference being' had to the accompanying drawings, in whic'hv Figure lis a perspective view of the said improved grate, and Fig. 2,1 a vertical transverse section of the same.
.The object of my improvement in basketgrates is to better lprevent the ashesy from becoming packed between the .bars of' the grate, and thus obstructing the requisitely free draft of air through the fuel, and also to afford a more free and easy discharge of the said ashes while the poker is being used in raking the grate, as such gra-tes cannot be, easily tilted and my invention consists 'of a basket-grate having its bars corrugated from end to end, as 'will be described and shown.
