IMPROVEMENT IN FRAMES FOR EXHIBITING DRESS-GOODS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 176,559, dated April 525, 1876; application filed February 5, 1876.
To all whom (it may concern:
Be it known that I, LEwIs H. SPRINGER, of Olaremont, Dodge county, Minnesota, have invented a new and Improved Frame for Exhibiting Dress-Goods, of which the following is a specification:
Figure 1 represents a side elevation; Fig. 2, a top view of my improved frame or support for exhibiting dress-goods; and Fig. 3 is a detail side view of the cross-beam with curved ends.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
The object of my invention is to provide for stores an improved frame or support for showing dress-goods of all kinds to the best advantage to customers, in connection with the fringes, trimmings, laces, &c., suited thereto; and the invention consists of a base-socket with upright rod or standard, carrying a curved cross-beam with bent-up ends.
In the drawing, Arepresents a suitable base part, to which the upright standard or rod B is securely socketed. The upper end of the standard B carries a curved cross-beam, O, which is set at any suitable angle to the standard tobest imitate the human form and exhibit the goods placed thereon to best advantage. The cross-beam C is provided at the outer ends with upward-bent hooks D, that serve to hang up the trimmings, 850., alongside the goods, to give the best cfi'cct to customers of the fitting of the same to the goods exposed.
The exhibiting-frame is intended to be moved on the counter,,and to be moved to any part thereof, so as to shade and expose the goods to the best possible advantage. It will enable the salesman to exhibit various goods side by side, and form, on account of its usefulness, a convenient and necessary article of dry-goods and other stores.

claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination, with a cross-bar, C, having outer hooks D, of an upright, B, arranged in the socket of the movable base A, as and for the purpose specified.
