f This invention relates to a new and improved button receptacle'.
In a great many States, `a person who desires to hunt or trap wild gaine, or to fish 5 is required to-'obtain from the State' a'vlicense for so doing. It is Ausually required by law that when such aperson'isengaged'in the activity for which hehas taken a license, he must carry withhim a button or tag carrying 10 onfits face indicia asserting the fact thaty he is the holder of such a license and this button or tag must at alllti'rn'esbe exposed to view. In addition, the-licensee is required to have with him the license itself. i
15 The main object of invention is to provide a button whichlwill not only'v carry on its face the required indicia, butwhich will itself; forrn a convenient receptaclein which the license itself may be carried.
I ainaware thatcertain buttons have been inadewith provision for carrying a license,
but in all such articles yhitherto known, there receptacle of such a designv thatwhen ali? cense is placed therein," it will/be secured thereinwith no 4danger of its becoming dis- Another'object of my invention `isp/to prof vide .a structure in which' the receptacle for the license .will be made by the malformation,
of the shellV or rear plate ofthebutton with out the necessity of `providing a separate and independent Inember .inv Aorder toobtain Such receptacle'l"\ j i ther'objeets andV advantages relate to the will -ino 1"ef'7ull'yv appear rfrom the yfollowing descriptionl taken in connection with the accompanying drawings in Which:l L

Figure 7 is a rear elevation of such modied for Figure 8 'is a section on line y8 8 of Figure 6. l
Figure 9 is a section'on line 9--9 0 'Figure 6.
Figure 10 is aV perspective view of the shell Y er back plate ofthe modified forni shown in Figure 7. My buttonv kl consists of a front plate 2,
preferably. circular in forni and having. its edge return rbent to form an annular ,groove 3.- The indiciaI carrying material lrhaving, When desired, indicia thereon, none here being shown,is positioned on the front surfaceA of front plate 2' and has-its edge return bent around theedgeof the front plate 2 into the annular groove 3 with aportion of such edge resting against the baclrof front yplate 2.
The shell or back plate 5 is formed with i' annular rirn 6 and has its central portion 7 dlshed inwardly. A pair of spaced apertures` v 8 and are. 'ornied'in central portion 7 adliacent rim 6. `upon the opposite end of portion Matter the Y I saine has' been extended [outwardlyxthrougfh aperture: 9. Pin V.portion'l at V'its centrall point has an inwardly extending curved portion 18 ot a size and shape to extend into slot l when the pin portion 16 is engaged with loop 17. Y
TvVith the pin 13 isf position on back plate 5, theannular rim 6 of back plate 5 is placed in position against4 the inner surface Vofthe indicia carrying material 4, which is tingagainst the part-ofthe indicia carrying Vpositioned in the annular groove 'of the front plate 2, the inner'edge otrim 6 :abutmaterial 4- which is positioned against the rear surface lof front plate 2. lThe annular' rim ot front plate 2 being deflected inwardly and rim 6 ot back plate r5 being deflected outwardly the parts willbe iirinlyljocled inposition when they have vbeen assembled in the manner just described. Y ,Y
`lllhen back plate 5 isin position on front plate 2, the portion .14 of pin 13 will be held against the innerl'ace ottront plate 2 and such portion 14 being oppositely deflected the pin 13 will beheld rigidly in position. Vth ,parts inthe assembled relation, the space between the'part 11 of back plate 5 and the inner faceoffront plate 2 willform val receptacle-into which a license `or' other card may be placed. `Vhen a license is in such receptacle andthe pin-portionfl has .been passed through the clothing of the wearer and Vits end positioned in loop 17, the curved` port-ion 18`o1t'thepin portion 16 will extend into slotjlO and engage the licenseto. hold firmly in the receptacle. `VThe aperture 12 is provided so that a linger-or other object may be inserted into the receptacle to aid'in tore ing theflicense out when it is so desired.
In the modified. form shown in Figures 6 to 10 inclusive, the difference in construction consists in the shape of theY back plate although the objectto be accomplished is the same that is Vthe formation ota'receptacle between the frontk plate and the back plate by themaltormationot the back plate.
