In the drawings the invention is shown as a structure comprising a pair of standards 1 and 2, connected by a base 3 and a top rail 4; all framed together to support a panel board 5 adapted to receive advertising matter and provided at its center I with a display aperture .6. I
The back of the panel board 5,, (Fig. .2), has a pair, of angleirons 7 and 8 fixed thereto to formguideways for slida'bly supporting and guiding a panel 9, which, as shown in Fig. 1, is divided into three sections 10,. 11 and 12, each of which is equalin area and outline to the display aperture 6; Land ing matter displayed thereon.
In order to move the panel 8 so as to cause e advertisthe sections 10, 11 and 12 to'appear fully and successively at the display opening 6,
the panel 9 has a pair'of angle iron brack-1 ets l3 and 14: secured to opposite ends of the back thereof andadapted to be engaged by cam hooks pivotally secured in certain positions on-the endless sprocket chains; 17 and 18. In order to move these chains in opposite directions past the back of panel 9, a pair of vertically disposed shafts 19 and20 are rotatably mounted in hearings 21-2223 and 2l2526, respectively,
suitable secured to the back of the standards 2 and 1, respectively.
The bearings 21 and 24am step bearings in which the lower ends of shafts 19 and 20 are supported rotatably; and, the bearings 22-23 and 25-26 are spaced apart to receive grooved, pulleys27 and 28 fixed to shafts 19 and 20, respectively. These pulleys 27 and 28 are rotated in opposite directions by cables 30 and 31, respectively extending around the double grooved pulley Y 32 which is fixed to a shaft 33 supported rotatably in bearingsBl and 35 fixedto the back of the top rail 4, the cable 31 being crossed to ensure rotation of shaft 20in the opposite direction to the direction of rotation of shaft 19. A windxvanev' of any suitable construction or type is fixed to the upper part of shaft 33 in order to rotate said shaft.-
Sprocket wheels 36 and 37, of which the heel 36 is fixed to shaft 19, and wheel 37 is rotatably mounted on shaft between the sleeves 38 and 39. The chain 18 is rotated by sprocket wheels 40 and 41 of which the wheel 10 is rotatably mounted on shaft 19, and the Wheel llvis fixed to shaft 20 to rotate therewith. This construction, obviously, ensures that the chains 17 and 18-will move in opposite directions pastrthe back of the panel 9 regardless of the direction of rotation of shaftBS by the wind vane V.

A hook member 42 is pivoted 'on the upper edge of the chain 17 and a similar member 43 is pivoted to the lower edge of said chain 17. These members 4-2 and lizare shaped symmetrically about their pivot axes in order to adapt tlienifor s'liding in either direction along guideways and 45"formed on a cam plate 46 having one end bifurcated and the fur'c ations thereof bent around shaft 19 on opposite sides of the wheel 36.
At-one end of the bill-board, the cam plate "46 is supported by'stra'p brackets 47 and i -8 19 is adapted to contact with either extending between the stretches of the sprocket chains 17 and 18 and suitably secured to the back of the panel board '5 and is formed with two contact surfaces 19 and 50 of different lengths. These hook members are symmetrically shaped relative to their pivot axesan order to adapt them for sllCllng":COIltitC'E'lD-Blthfil' direction on i the contact surfaces of the plate 51.
The spacings between the hook members- 42 ant 453 on chain 17, and between members I 56 and 57 on chain 18 determine the intervals between successive movements of the,

Since the cam hooks 42, 4:3, 56 and 57 are symmetrically shaped, it is obviously immaterial which direction the shaft 33 is rotated by the wind. The display panel is reciprocated back of the aperture 6 by the successive operation of the two chains 17 and 18 which rotate continuously in opposite directions. r
It will be obvious from the disclosure herein that I have provided a novel changeable advertising exhibitor which involves no expense for operating power, and which can bevery easily and cheaply manufactured.
WVhat I claim ,is:
1. An advertising device comprising a board having a display aperture, a panel slidable on the back of said board across said aperture, a Wind operated shaft, and means connecting saidshaft to said panel to reciprocate said panel successively into predetermined positions relative to said aperture.
2. An advertising device comprising a board having a display aperture, a panel divided into a plurality of sections of sub stantially the saineshape and area as said aperture, a Wind operated shaft, a pair of shafts supported on said board parallel to each other, means connecting said pair of shafts to said wind operated shaft to cause rotation of said pair of shafts in opposite directions, and means connecting said shaft to said panel to reciprocate said panel in successive steps to expose one of its sections completely by said aperture.
3. An advertising device comprising a board having a display aperture, a display panel reciprocable on the back of said board across said aperture, means for intermittently moving said panel in one direction past said aperture, and means for intermittently moving said panel in the opposite direction across said aperture.
4. An advertising device comprising a board having a display aperture, a display panel reciprocable on the back of said board across said aperture, means for intermittently moving said panel in one direction through equaldistances to a predetermined position relative to said aperture, and means for intermittently moving said panel in. the
opposite direction from said predetermined position through equal distances to another predetermined position relative to said aperture.
5. An advertising device comprising a board having a display aperture, 'a display panel reciprocable on the back of said board across said aperture, a wind driven shaft,
