This invention relates to can openers and it is an improvement on the. invention forming the subject matter of Patent No. 1,6341 493, granted to the joint inventor Hedley Falla of the present invention.
The general object of the invention is to provide an improved can opener which in cludes means to prevent the knife of the opener from casually jumping out of a can during the operation of the opener and also to cause the knife of the opener to slide forward on its upstroke, with the result the present construction can be operated with extreme case and will perform its functions in an efficient and expeditious manner withv very little effort on the part of the operator. 7
This invention also consists inv certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim. I

Referring to the drawings in detail and view of the knife 7 particularly to Figures 1 to 5 inclusive, the
