This invention relates to improvements in pin boards for holding bobbins of silk, cotton or other threads, so that the bobbins may be conveniently handled and stored.
Pin boards in general use are made of several parts, and usually consists of wooden or metal boards equipped with wooden or metal pins. Many boards now in use have their pins secured by nails or glue. In the former type the pins quickly become loosened due to removing and replacing the bobbins, While humidity and heat loosen the glued pins. Pin boards with their bobbins or cops are placed in a conditioning room for the purpose of conditioning the material with reference to heat and moisture, the moisture in addition to loosening the pins,
also causes rust upon the material where.

The above and other objectionable features are overcome by the present invention which provides a board having pins integrally formed and constructed of or covered with non-rustable metal, the shape of the pins acting to securely hold the bobbins against accidental displacement while permitting of their ready removal when desired.
With the above and other objects in view, the invention further includes the following novel features and details of construction, to be hereinafter more fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and pointed .out in the appended claim. I

Figure 1 is a side view of a pin board constructed in accordance with the invention, one of the pins and a portion of the board being shown in section, while a bobbin is shown by dotted lines positioned upon one of the pins.
Figure 2 is atop plan view of the board.
Referring to the drawings in detail wherein like characters of reference denote corresponding parts, the reference character 10 indicates the base or board from which rise a number of pins 11. The base or board and pins are integrally formed and are preferably made of a non-rustable metal; The pins taper upwardly, the taper being relatively slight or gradual, while the lower ends i of the pins join the board by means of a curved or angular portion 12 of a character to suddenly increase the diameter of the pins at this point.
The bobbins, a portion of'one of which is shown by dotted lines and indicated at 13 in Figure 1 of the drawings, are adapted, to be removably positioned upon the pins. The relative diameter of the pins and the diameter of the bores of the bobbins are such that'when the bobbins are placed upon the pins, the lower ends of the bobbins will have a frictional engagement with the pins near the enlarged ortions 12, the weight of the bobbins and the silk or yarn thereon serving to cause sufficient frictional engagement to prevent accidental removal of the bobbins. The lower ends of the bobbins are held spaced from the upper face of the board or base 10 by the enlarged portions of the pins,
and as the upper ends of the pins, due to their tapered formation, are spaced from the walls of the bore of the bobbins, the said bobbins may be slightly rocked to release frictional engagement so that the, bobbins 5- may be easily and quickly removedQ The engagement between the bobbins and pins however is such that when the bobbins are p in position upon the pins they will not shake and fall off easily when being handled.
The invention is susceptible of various changes in its form, proportions and minor details of construction and the right is herein reserved to make such changes as properly fall within the scope of the appended claim.
Having described the invention what is claimed is A one piece bobbin pin board comprising a base, and spaced pins rising from and integral with the base said pins gradually tapering upwardly from the base to the top of the pins and suddenly increasing in diameter adjacent the base to frietionally engage the end portions of the bobbins to yieldingly hold the latter on the pins, and to space the lower ends of the bobbins above the base to. permit of limited rocking movement ofthe bobbins on said base.
