IMPROVEMENT IN WHIFFLETREE ATTACHMENTS FOR PLOWS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 176,2 [2, dated April 18, 1876; application filed March 25, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, THOMAS B. BALDWIN, of Troy, in the county of Bradford and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved Whiffletree Attachment for Plowing, of Which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of the roller common- I y connected to the plow-beam, for gaging the depth of the furrow, connected to the evener or doubler Whiffletree, where, besides gaging the depth of the furrow just as well, it also holds up the whiffletrees and the traces, and prevents the horses from stepping out of the traces so much as they commonly do.
Figure l is a front elevation of my improved whiffletree attachment, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation.

A represents the evener, to be hooked onto the plow-beam in the usual way by a hook, G,

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patcut-- The combination of gage-wheel D with the evener A, substantially as specified.
