The invention relates to what is known in the printerstrade as a printers quoin for securing'a typeform rigidly in position in a 'printers chase preparatory to being used in a printing press." The invention consists of a printers quoin having a suitable body with a. clamping memberitherein which has an outward and downward movement which not only forces thev typertogether in ahorizon? tal plane,but also forces them downwardly against a hard smooth plate so the type will be laid evenly and ma symmetrical manner to prevent workup's.
The invention fur ther consists of special details of construction and will be taken up in detail in the specification and claims.

The body of the quoin 10 is provided with an inclined longitudinal slot 14 adapted. to receive the adjustable sliding clamp, having a clamping member15 and'a supporting member 16..
The lower part of the body 10 1s cut away forming two supporting membersl7 and 18 which lessens the friction surface of the quoin body on the table in which the type form is set up and allows the movable parts to be assembled; The supporting member 16 of the clamp is formed at a suitable angle to the clamping member 15 which allows the said clamp 15 when it moves outwardly to also move downwardly. ,These resulting movements exert an outward and downward movement against the printing forms which would otherwise cause the form and the furniture to buckleif the clamp 16 moved outwardlyin a straight line.
