This invention aims to provi-de novel means whereby closures of any desired kind, such as screens, may be mounted in a windowframe 1Cor sliding movement, it being Vpossible to remove and detach the screens or other closures readily and quickly.

The numeral 1 ymarks a frame including stiles 2 in which a window 3 is mounted in any desired way.V
Closures, such as screen frames 4, are pro# vided. .One stile 5 of the screen frame 4 is provided with a fix-ed tongue 6 mounted to slide in a groove 7 formed in one of the stiles 2 of the window frame 1. The opposite stile of the window frame has a corresponding groove 8, there being one of the grooves and one of the grooves 8v for each of the screen frames 4.
`Any desired number of transverse bores 9 are formed in the stile 10 of the screen frame 4. Into the inner end of the bore 9 is threaded a tubular guide 11 havingan enlarged head 12 which engages the inner surface of the stile 10.
The numeral 14 marks a U-shaped shoe mounted to slide horizontally in a recess 15 formed in the outer edge of the stile 10, the
bore 8 communicating with the recess 15.
The shoe 14 is carried by a stem 16, including an outer member 17 which is threaded into an inner member v18, the inner member 18 .sliding in the guide'll, the stem 16 passing through the bore 9.y Y
The inner member 18 of the stem 16 has a flattened end 19 received in a slot 20 formed in the head of a cam lever2l, the head of the cam lever being providedfwith an opening 22 adapted to receive al pivot element 23-carried by the part 18 ofthe stem 16, the pivot element VJfori'ning a ulcrum for the cam lever 21.? rThe head of the cam lever is provided, with straight` parallel edges 24 and 25 which are disposed opposite each other, the edge 24 being nearer to th-epivot element than is the the stem 16. One end of the spring 26 engages the inner end of the guidell, 'and the opposite end of the spring26' bears vagainst the-shoe 14.
When the cam lever 21 is in such a position that the edge 25 bears against the end of the guide 11, the shoe 14 is retracted out of the groove 8, as shown in the lower left hand. corner of Figure 1. When all of the shoes 14 are retracted, the screen frame 4 can be swung out of the window frame atV one edge and the fixed tongue 6 can be removed from the groove 7, it being possible, thus, to detach the screen frame from the window trame.k When, however, the edge 24 of the cam leverengages the guide 11, then the shoe 14 is advanced and is received slidably in the groove 8 to hold the screen frame 4 in the window frame 1 for slidingmovement. Thev spring V26 prevents rattling and holds the lever 21 in place with either the edge 24 or the edge 25 engaged with the guide 11. Because the member 17 of the stem 16 is threaded into the member 18 of the stem, the device is adapted for use on screen frames the stiles 10v of which may be of dierent widths. The structure of course is capable of use in connection with closures other than screen frames.
