Description

0R GAS-BURNER'S.
Patented March 28,-1876'.
UNTTED STATES PATENT QFFICE,
WILLIAM H. R. TOYE, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF HIS RIGHT TO THOMAS F. BOYD, OF SAME PLACE.
IMPROVEMENT IN REFLECTORS FOR GAS-BURNERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 175,527, dated March 28,
1876 application filed January 24, 1876.
- To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. R. TOYE, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, have invented an Improved Reflector which the following-is aspecification:
The object of my invention is to attach a reflector to the bracket of a gas-burner or lamp-holder in such a manner that it can be readily adjusted to different positions in re spect to the burner; and this object I attain in the manner which I will now proceed to describe, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
In Figure 1, A represents the 'branch of a gas-bracket, and B the burner. D is a reflector, which may be of the usual construction, and to the rear of this reflector is secured a socket, a, arranged to fit snugly over and to turn freely on the pin E, the latfor being hinged at b to a rod, F, which is hinged at d to a clamp, G, the hinges or joints being of such a character that the pin E and rod F will be self-retaining in any position to which they have been adjusted.
On referring to Fig. 2 it will be observed for Gas-Burners, of
to turn on a pin, E, in combination with one or more jointed rods, F, and an adjustable clamp, G, for attachment to the branch of a gasburner or other support, all substantially as set forth.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in' the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
WM. H. R. TOYE.
