This invention is an improvement in hangers for articles to be plated, and more particularly in a hanger for chromium plating, en-
abling the articles to be supported in the most favorable position for receiving the deposit.
In electro-plating, the article isthe cathode, and there must be a good electrical connection between the article and the hanger, with which the negative lead of the circuit is connected, in order to obtain a maximum of efiiciency.
In certain ware, such as tubular articles, it is desirable that such articles be supported at both ends, and that the contact between the article and the hanger be relatively large, and at a plurality of points widely spaced.
One of the primary objects of the present invention is the provision of a type of hanger especially adapted for supporting tubular articles, wherein means is provided for engaging each end of the article to support the same in horizontal osition.
Another ob] ect is to provide in such a hanger a supporting element which will contact with the article over a relatively large area and at points spaced widely from each other.
Another object is the provision in such a hanger of mechanism to enable easy removal and replacement of the article.
.Another object is the provision of a simple and inexpensive construction adapted to support a maximum number of articles in a minimum ofs ace.
With t ese and other objects in view the invention consists in the construction and novel combination of parts fully described ,-hereinafter;illustrated in'the accompanying drawings, and pointed out in the claims appended hereto, it being understood thatvarious changes in the form, proportion, size and minor details of construction within the scope of the claims, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit ofthe invention.

Fig. 3 is a perspective view of one of the the-upper end of the bars 3 are offset laterally at their lower portions as shown at 4:, and bent to engage the bar 2, the arrangement being such that the bars 3 will hang vertically. Two elements 3 are provided, the said elements being in the form of bars, depending from the cross bar 2. The positive electrodes 5 are supported in the tank in the usual manner, and the negative conductor is connected with all of the cross bars 2, when more than one is used.
Each of the elements 3 is provided at'spaced intervals on one face, with spring clips 6, in the present instance, connected by means of bolts 6. The clips are bent outwardly slightly from the bar 3 intermediate their ends, and their free ends engage the bar 3 closely.
The supporting elements are in the form of plates 7 relatively thick, and relatively long, and each has secured to one end thereof a rod 8, the end of the rod being flattened as shown at 9 to fit the plate 7 closely, and the flattened end is riveted or welded to the late.
In use, two of the supports are use one in connection with each bar 3. The lates 8 are engaged beneath the clips 6, and t e ends of the rods extend into theends of the tubular cludiiig rods for engaging within the ends of the article, hangers, and interengagin means in connection with the hangers andv t e rods:
