My invention relates to blowers. 7 It is the object of my invention to provide a rigid, quickly assembled, noiseless blower construction, which will eliminate all castl ingscustomarily employed in blower constructions, and which will eliminate all noise due to the vibration of the fans and motors.
It is a further object of my invention to provide a common means for supporting the blower housing and the motor and fan in such a way that themotor and fan, while supported from a common support with the ousing, will not touch the housing nor communicate the vibrations thereof thereto.
It is a further ob'ect tov rovide means of easily and quickly, etacha ly, mounting the motor with respect to the fan shaft, and resiliently supporting it in position so that the fan and motor will be properly balanced.

Thus, the motor and the fan were directl as sociated with and mounted upon the drumlike structure of the fan casing. This resulted in very considerable weight. The castings were expensive and, in large size I blowers, diflicult to handle because of their weight. This necessitated heavy freight charges and, in operation, the vibration of the motor and fan was directly conveyed to the blower casing and housing. In assembly, much time and labor was lost due to the complicated assembly operations between the sheet metal and casting portions ofthe blow or as well as between the fan and motor installations.
With this understanding of the prior development in the construction of blowers, the novel and advantageous features of my invention will be understood.
Iselect a scroll casing of sheet metal designated 1 having turned over edges 2 which are U-shaped in cross section.
I then take a side plate, such as 3, and by two operations form a flange 4 and an opening- 5. Adjacent this flange 4 I bolt with the bolts 6 an inverted U-shaped horseshoe supportof angle iron designated 7 the feet of which 8 rest upon the ground or any other support.
The other sidewall 9 has an inwardly V formed'flange 10, but as I do not out out this side wall, the bottom 11 of the cup-shaped depression thus formed remains position.-
Asimilar U-shaped angle iron support is mounted adjacent this cup-shaped de ression of the side wall 9 and is desi ate 12. A cross member 13 serves to furt er brace this inverted horseshoe reinforcement.
One opening for the blower is at 14 and the other opening is through the flange 4 and the passageway formed thereby.
The fan itself is designated 15 and is mounted upon the fan shaft 16, which is also the armature shaft of the motor 17. This motor is'suspended by flexible plates 18 pref" erably formed of rubber and fabric. These plates are wedge-shaped. They are bolted by the bolts 19 to the motor on the motor bracket 20 and by the bolts 21 to the frame bracket y 22. The bottom 11 of the side wall 9 is cut away at 23 sufficiently for the passage of the to the shaft.
It will be noted that the whole structure is supported on the two horseshoe reinforcement members but that support of the motor and fan is inde endent of the support for the' casing. The exible resilient members 18 provide for the alignment of the motor, its
proper balancing and the absorption of all viration. Any motor of any size may be mounted, the width-of the fans may be varied utilizing the same supports: and side walls, merely varying the width of the scroll 1 The advantage of interchangeability of this structure'is evident from an examination of Figures 7, 8 and 9.

This bearing can be mounted in the recess of the cup formed in the side wall while the pulley 26 is mounted beyond the bearing.
