This invention relates to new and useful' v lmprovements 1n kauxiliary draft attachments. l
The primary object of this invention is to 5 provide an auxiliary draft attachment which will permit very fine fuel, such as buckwheaty orrice coal, saw-dust, shavings, etc., Ato be burned in domestic and commercial furnaces. A further object of the invention `is to,

At suitably yspaced ,intervals around the lower face of theA base 7 radially extending ribs 10 are formed. These ribs are received within grooves 411 formed in the upper faces j of the/inner end portions of the radially extending legs 12. To permit longitudinal adj ustment of these legs, the same are provided with slots l'through which pass the bolts 14 depending from the base 7.
While Figure 1 shows the provision of five of these adjustable legs, Vit is to be understood that I do not desire to limit myself to any such number and in fact I have found it advantageous to employ-only three legs the 'same being positioned in accordance with the three fully illustrated legsv in Figurejl.
Projecting into the bosses 9V from the upper ends thereof are the Shanks-15 of the 80 perpendicularly extending air emitting tubes 16 which are suitably perforated as at v e 17. In a device of the type described, the combination with a lire box, and a grate structure therein, of a draft attachment located Within the lire box and removably supported on the grate structure for distributing throughout the fire box draft which passes upwardly through the grate structure, said attachment including a base Vhaving a plurality of openings therethrough, a plurality of hollow perforated members carried by the base coaxially with said openings to receive draft passing upwardly therethrough, and legs for supporting the base in an elevated position with respect to the grate structure to permit the draft to enter the openings in the base.

In a device of the type described, the combination with a lire box, and a grate Y structure therein7 of a draft attachment located Within the lire lbox and supported on the grate structure for distributing throughout the re box `draft Which passesupwardly through the grate structure, saidattachment including a frame-like base, a plurality of draft conducting members arranged in spaced relation around the base to distribute the draft throughout the fire box, and means for supporting the base upon the grate structure at different elevations With respect to the latter. n
