F igure 1 1s a plan view of my improved towel.
Figure 2'is a fragmentary longitudinal section taken substantially upon the line 22 1 of Figure 1. I
a Turkish effect the major portion of the loosely woven area being between the two plain areas and of a greater width and. breadth than either of the latter areas of the towel, and each of said plain areas being in- 55 compassed by certain remaining loosely woven portions of the fabric.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
PER HEIBERG.
Now having particular reference to the drawing, 5 designates generally atowel of predetermined length and width. The major area of the towel is woven to provide a Turkish surface, the longitudinal or warp threads being loose as is usual in this type of towel this surface being indicated by the ref- Y erence character 6. However, in carrying out a the present invention certain predetermined areas adjacent opposite ends of the towel'5 are formed by tightly woven threads with smooth or hand towel areas 77. It is to be of course understood that I do not desire to be limited to any particular relationship of thesmooth or hand towel area or areas with respect to the towel unitas it is obvious that the'towel can be so woven, as to provide one or more smooth or tightly woven areas and at any predetermined-point throughout the length or width of the towel body.
Having thus described the invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: y
In a combination towel of the character described, a length of fabric of elongated rectangular configuration wherein a certain portion of the fabric inwardly from opposite ends thereof is tightly woven to provide on opposite faces of the towel a pair of relatively large smooth plain areas, and the remaining portion of the fabric being loosely woven to provide on opposite sides thereof
