In Fig. 6 the arm has been pivoted to the position30 against the arm 11 to mainf tain the pressure of the vjaws 12-14 to hold h the compositel handle 11-13 when used as a wrench. The socket seen in Fig. 4 is provided with a hexagonal pin 31V having a spring zet and to hold the same against falling olf. Having fullydescriloed my invention what I nowv claimfas new and desire to secure hy 'Letters Patent is:
AV1. In a `comloination tool, a pair of pliers,
the jaws of which each carry a pin element;
a socket provided with VJtool means,
hinged toonejofthe handles ofsaid pliers;
said arm having tively positioned within the said arm; and a stop on the said-handle for contacting said spring actuated ball.'
having'projecting pins and in their close position contracting to loosely enter within said socket; and openings within said socket ing the handles of said pliers and for locking a combination-tool, a 'pair of pliers anda socket element; the jaws of said plier formed to v d receive the jaws and the pins, and a strut arm a spring actuated balloperar' l the projecting pin elements of said jaws and means for then spreadsaid handles in such spread position, said means including a strut arm hinged to one tuated ball operatively positioned within the said arm, and a stop on said handle for normally holding' said strut arm against said handle for effectingrelease of the socket element when locked on the plier jaws, said spring actuated ball means likewisepermitting release of said hinged strut arm to hear against the opposite handle element, or so as to rigidly attach said socket to said plier jaws.
3. A pair of pliers, a strut arm hinged to one handle thereof; said arm having a spring actuated ball operatively positioned Within the said arm, and a stop on the handle for contacting said spring actuated ball.
In testimony whereof l aifix my signature.
