To the handle 44 is pivoted a push-piece 74 Y which is adapted to fold up by turning on its pivot 75.# Above its piv-otal point on the bracket 45, the handle 44 carries a stud 48 which is engaged in a vertical slot 49 in a pawl 50 coacting withV a ratchet wheel 6,5 mounted o-n theshaft of an adding counter or meter 58. Below its pivotal point 'on the bracket 45, each lever 44 carries an 'axle 51Y inserted between the'b-ranches of a fork Vwhich is mounted on the endV ofa rod 52 K 25, 26, there will obviously be provided four handles 44, each provided with a push-piece 74. At the upper end of each handle 44 is a toe 19 which upon actuating'the handle will successively engage the notches 27 and 28 of a retaining lever 59 which ispivoted to the main body of the cock. The toe 19 may be disengaged from the said notches by raising the lever 59 which extends outwardly (Fig. 1).
A safety device is provided in order to prevent any liquid being supplied to the bell while the feeding to the exterior is taking place; as shown in Figs. 2, 3 and 5` this device consists of a lowerrtransverse'shaft 77 VeX-V tending below the four handles of the 'cocks 44.
Opposite each handle 44, the shaft 77 carries an arm 76 of suitable shape, which is turned down when the corresponding handle 44 is operated. The shaft 77 is further provided at its centre with an arm 78 to which is pivoted the rod 79, mounted ina guide 80 and urged by a spring 105, and having at the end the sleeve 81 (Fig. 6)'. )Vithin the said sleeve is disposed the spring 82 in contact with a pin 83 which is held in the said sleeve Y by. a stud 84 engaged in a slot 85 in the said pin; the pin 83 cooperates with a gear wheel 86 which is secured to the wheel 87 actuating the feedY pump 21.

The liquid withdrawn by the said pump is l discharged into the pipes 12 and 10, and when Y issuing from the latter, the liquid is caused to impinge upon the disk 72 whereby the kstream is suitably spread out.
In this manner the said bell is gradually filled, and when the liquidy attains the level of the upper trough 73 it will be discharged by the overflow tube 9 and will return through the Vconduit 11 to the main tank. Should the pumping now cease, the liquid will come int-o equilibrium at the level P-O (Fig. 2).V
The spacingof thek troughs 101, 102, k103, 104-is such that theY amount of liquid comprised between given troughand the level .P-0 shall have a stated value, for instance an integral number of liters. In this manner, there will be 20 liters ofliquid between the level IPA-20 of theV trough 104 and the level P-O; 15 liters between the level P-15 of the trough103 and the level P-0; 10 liters between the level P-10 of thetrough 102 and the Vlevel 13e-0; and 5 liters between the levelP-5 of thev troughV 101 and the level P-O ;"obviously, anyother suitable arrangement may be employed.
By operating forinstance the `handle 44 correspondingV to the cock 24 (Fig. 4), the
stud 46 on said handle will move in the slot 41 of the stem 40 of the cock, but without moving the said stem. However the pawl 50 acts fromthebeginning upon the ratchet wheel 65 of the meter 58, which thus registers one unit.
Continuingits motion, the handle 44actuates i the stem 40 of the cock 24 and opens the-valve 39; the liquid comprised between the levels P-O and P 10 will now be .discharged through the pipe 14'; it will enter the main chamber 3,5 and will Vbe discharged' the-nce through the hose37.
, Since the handle 44 of the Vcock 24 has thus been operated, the rod 52 pivoted thereto will have been driven back, and the shutter 56 connected tothe rod by the-member 53will appear before the window 57. `Upon the said shutter there is marked the indication for 10Y liters, corresponding to the amount supplied by the cock 24. The purchase-r will thus observe the amount of liquid which he receives.
When the handle 44 is operated, its arm 76 is driven back, andcauses a slight rotation of the shaft 77 the rod 79 descends against the action of the spring and they pin 83 at the end of the said rodwill engage the teeth of the wheel 86, thus locking the pump and prey masse Y Obviously, when the pin183v (`Fig.rv6) coineides with one'fof the teeth of the wheel 86, this wheel is not at once locked, but when'th'e 'smallest motion is impartedto the wheel 87,

' Should the owner of the yapparatus desire to ascertain the amount of liquid which has been supplied during a stated-period, he notes the indications of the number of liters supplied each time that the cock corresponding to the givenvmeter is opened, and he then adds together the four figures thus obtained.
Obviously, mysaid apparatus is susceptible of numerous constructional modilicai i -tions without departing from the principle of 'the invention. For example the bell 1Y may be replaced by a glass cylinder closed at the i top by a tight metal'disk.
As above stated, if a supply of liquid under pressure is available, I may ispense with the pump 21 'and substitute a cock 22niounted on the conduit 12. In this event, the overflow conduit 11 should be connected with a special tank, which is not subjected tothe ordinary pressure. e
