Description

K. SCHULTE Jan. 28, 1930.
ROLLER CONVEYER Original Filed May 4, 1925 /N'VeNTO/ /Jf my@ UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE KARL SGHULTE, OI DUISBUBG-BUHROBT, GERMANY ROLLER CONVEYEB Original application filed Kay 4, 1925, Serial No. 27,983, and in Germany December lo, 1924. Divided and this application led ctober 30, 1928. Serial No. 316,069.
This invention relates to roller conveyers as described in the U. S. Patent 1,725,740, of which this application'is a division.
. In cases where a conveyer roller is to be used the diameter of which is smaller than can be afforded bythe construction of the roller unit according to Fig. 3 of the application No. 27 ,983 with outside rotor or where the material to be conveyed is to be drawn oiiz' atthe end of the transport-Way in one direction only, it is advantageous, to lengthen the rotor which turns on a xed shaft in the interior of the stator and to form this extension as a conveyer roller. Inthe drawing Fig.` 1 is equal to Fig. 2 of the application Nr. 27,983 and shows a longitudlnal section of the object of` the invention. Fig. 2 is a plan view of 'a roller conveyer with several rollers lying side by 2Q side. Fig. 3 shows a part of the roller conveyer in side view. l
The nonturning shaft 1 is supported in the two side beams 2, which rest on the common plate 3. On the shaft 1 turns in-bearings 4 '25 the roller 5, which forms at its end 5* the rotor of a short-circuit-electromotor. This part 5" of the roller is surrounded by the stator 6, which is 'fastened on the plate 3. In the stator 6 are fastened the magnet-systems 7, to
which theelectric current is led by the conductors 8. The stator 6 and the part 5 of the roller working as a rotor are protected against dirt and damage by the plate 9.
In Figs. 2 and' 3 Iis clearly shown, how the material 10 is conveyed by the rollers 5.
What I claimis A roller unit in a conveyer of the type described, comprising a support, a stationary shaft resting on said support, an electric motor having its rotor element rotatably mounted on said shaft, and a stator surroundin a portion of said rotor, and means supporting said stator on said support. I
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification.
KARL SCHULTE.
