IMPROVEMENT IN PANELS FOR BLINDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 173,789, dated February 22, 1876; application filed i l January 17, 1876.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, GEORGE HAYES, of No. 71 Eighth Avenue, in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in 'Panelsfor Window- Blinds, Shutters, Doors, Screens, Shades of Railroad tlars, and to take the place of movable or stationary slats in every instance where they maybe used; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being hadto the accompanyingdrawing, which forms part of this specification.
This invention has for its object, or certain of them, the same as those described in my former application for patent filed in the Fat ent Ofiice October 23, 1875, namely, to obstruct the direct rays of the sun, and to exclude dust, insects, &c.; and as I propose using narrow strips of metal, I can construct the panels of smaller'pieces or cuttings of the sheets which have been used for other purposesconsequently a saving in cost is efiected.
