Description
NVv."12,-1-929. J KAUTZ 1,735,766y
HAIR GLIPPER Filed sept. 2, 192'?y /W fm I Ill ATTORNEY Patented Nov. 12, 1929V UNITED STATES JACOB KAUTZ, F CHICAGO, ILLINOIS HAIR CLIPPER Application filed September 2, 1927. Serial No. 217,182.
. ing or taking the hair away after being cut by the clipper whereby the hair will not be left in the head or deposited upon theV floor.
Other objects will appear hereinafter. The invention consists in the novel combination and arrangements of 'parts to be hereinafter described and claimed.
The' invention will be best understood byV reference to the accompanying drawings, showing the preferred form of construction and in which:
Fig. 1 is a top plan view of the invention; Fig. 2 is a sectional detail view taken substantially on line 2-2 of Fig. 1.
Referring more particularly to the drawing a hair clipper is indicated at 1() and this hair clipper includes two handles 11 and 12 which operate cutting elements or blades 18 in a well-known manner. This-head 14 of the clipper in the present instance is mounted upon a plate 15 having an upstanding flange 16 and said head is secured to the plate through the medium of a bolt 17. The plate 15 provides a neck 18 and connected to this neck 18 through the medium of set screws 19 is a coupling 2O whichconnects one end portion 21 of a flexible hose 22 tothe neck 18, said hose being connected to a suction pump or the like. The flange 16 has formed therein a seat 23 and yieldably mounted in this seat 23 is a bead 24 formed as an integral part of a skirt or cap 25 likewise formed of rubber or other yieldable material. v
In use theskirt-or cap is placed vupon that portion of the surface from which the hair is to be cut and during the cutting operation,
slight pressure isv applied to the clipper so as to compress the side walls of the skirt to disposeVK the cuttingV elements in 7 proper position for cutting the hair the 150 required length. As the hair is cut, ,the
same will be drawn through the neckl into the Vhose 22 to a suitabl cut hairfis disposed. seen that the hair wi when cut, upon the he fined upon the floor.
While I have illustrated and described the i e receptacle where the From this it will be ll not find lodgment, ad nor will it be conpreferred form of construction for carrying my invention into efect, this is capable of variation and modification, withoutdeparting from the spirit of the invention. I, therefore, do not wish to be details of construction set forth, but desirel to avail myself of such limited to the precise variation and modifications as come within the scope of the appended claims.
Y Having thus described my invention .what I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent is:
1. In combination with a hair clipper, a plate secured to the head of said clipper having a` peripheral flange extending upwardly therefrom, said plate therein and having a said opening, a skirt ha providing a bead, said having an` opening neck portion around ving a peripheraledge flange havinga recess thereininwhich said bead may be fitted to connect said skirt to said platetwhereby said skirt will depend therefrom, and vsuction means connected to the neck portion extending upfiange having a recess formed in the outer side thereof, said plate having an opening therein and a neck portion extending `upwardf ly around said opening whereby a suction means may be connected thereto, and a skirt formed from flexible material having a bead at the upper edge the reof, said bead being disposed-in said groove to connect said skirt to said plate.
In testimony whereo f I affix my signature..V JACOB KAUTZ.
