Description
. Oct. 1929. H. BCBEHM I I I DISPLAY DEVICE Filed March 29, 1.928
Patented Oct. 22, 1929 UNITED STATES HEINRICH BOEHM, OF BERLIN, GERMANY DISPLAY DEVICE Application filed March 2fl, 1928, Serial No. 265,669, and in Germany January 18, 1928.
This invention relates to display-devices which are in the form of a slipper adapted to display ladies hosiery and is especially designed with a view of facilitating the insertion of a stocking or hose onto the said device in such manner as to avoid damage to the hosiery and at the same time to most pleasingly expose the hosiery for purpose of display.
For the purposes as indicated the device according to my invention consists of a holder, carrier or receptacle preferably in the form of a ladys slipper into which the hose-form may be inserted only at its front or toe part so that the rear or heel part of the hose-form will be raised above the heel section of the slipper for display purposes. This holder, carrier or receptacle for the hose-form may be made of any desired material, such as porcelain, metal, Wood or the like and for the purpose in view is preferably provided with recessed or cut-away parts in order to most completely display the hose. In order to facilitate this, it is especially advantageous to make said holder, carrier or receptacle from glass.
In the accompanying drawing an exemplification of the display device according to this invention is shown. Fig. lis a lateral view of the display device in the form of a slipper having essentially its upper heel part removed, the hose or hose-form being indicated in dotted lines, and Fig. 2 shows the device of Fig. 1 in an enlarged perspective view.
In order to further improve the appearance of the display device, according to my invention there may be provided a base for said holder, carrier or receptacle, as indicated in both figures of the drawing. This base which may be of plain or ornamental design will essentially serve to contribute to the pleasing appearance of the display device and at the same time provide means for properly supporting the device when placed in a store window, display box or similar space. For
this purpose the slipper may preferably be firmly secured to the base.
I claim:
1. A display device for ladies hose and the like, comprising a non-flexible body in the form of a slipper designed to constitute a support for a hose-form essentially at the toe portion of the latter.
2. A display device for ladies hose and the like, comprising a non-flexible body, said body being of the conformation of a slipper with the upper side of its heel part unobstructed by the presence of any representation of an upper so as to be adapted to receive and embrace the toe part of a hose form and to freely expose the rear or heel part of said hose-form.
3. A display device for ladies hose and the like, comprising. an integral body of nonflexible material, said body being of a conformation similar to a ladys slipper having, a high heel and including a hollow portion and devoid of an upper heel part whereby to expose the hose-form when placed thereon, the hollow toe portion constituting means for frictionally receiving the toe part of the hose. form to support it with its rear or heel part elevated.
4. A display device for ladies hose and the like, comprising a body, said body being of the conformation of a ladys slipper having a. high heel and having its rear upper part cutaway whereby the body may serve as a receptacle essentially for the toe part of the hose-form and freely display the rear or heel part of a hose fitted to the form.
5. A display device for ladies hose and the like, comprising a body in the form of a slipper and formed at its toe portion to constitute a socket for a hose-form essentially at the 35 front part of the latter, and a base for said body, substantially as described and for the purposes set forth.
6. A display device for ladies hose and the like comprising a non-flexible body in representation of a slipper having a sole, a high-heel and an upper including a toe portion and shallow side portions and in which body representation the upper is devoid of a heel portion and the sole is inclined abruptly downwardly at its front, the toe portion being hollow to provide a socket to frictionally receive the toe portion of a hose form whereby to support the form and hose thereon with the heel portions thereof elevated and unobstructed to View through the absence, on the body, of an upper heel portion and the abrupt downward inclination of the front portion of the sole of the body.
In testimony whereof I z'nfix my signature.
HEINRICH BOEHM.
