IMPROVEMENT lN-HEEL-SUPPO RTERSFOR RUBBER $HOES.- V
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 173,204, dated February 8, 1876; application filed I J annary 22, 1876.
' To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, MARTIN Book, of Oonyngham, Luzerne county, Pennsylvania, have invented a new and Improved India- Rubber-Shoe-Heel Supporter, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of alittle Wire supporter for holding up the heel of an india-rubber shoe, to prevent it from slipping down at the heel of the-boot, said wire being suitably contrived to stick into the heel of the boot by points, from which it extends up along the heel of the boot a little higher than the shoe, and has a stud near the top projecting through a hole in the shoe and holding it up, the fastener being itself held by its points in the heel of the boot. 7
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a boot and fastener, and a section of the rubber shoe,- showing the manner of fastening up the heel of the rubber shoe and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the fastener.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A represents the two members of a doubled wire, of which it'is preferable to make the supfrom slipping down, as rubbershoes usually .do.
The shoe keeps the points of the supporter pressed into the heel of the boot, so that it is properly supported.
For releasing the shoe to take it off, it inay be detached from the stud D, or the points may be detached from the heel.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent-- A rubber-shoe-heel supporter, consistingoi aywire or wires, A, having the point or points B for stickingin the heel of'the boot, anda stud or projection, D, for holding the heel of the shoe, substantially as specified.
