Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 173,095, dated February 1, 1876; app ication filed v December 15,1875.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN H. Soldering-furnaces when used out of doors are liable to difiiculty from strong winds,

which difliculty is avoided in this furnace by placing the draft-openings at the bottom and all around the bottom of the furnace, and providing them with a slide, by which the draft may he graduated or shut off entirely, as required.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
