Description

A. J. MOSHER.
, WINDOW-WASHER. No 173 043. Patented Feb; 1, ms.
N PETERS, PHOTO-LITHOGHAFHER WASHINGTON. D. O.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ANDREW J. MOSHER, OF DEERING, MAINE.
IMPROVEMENTIN WINDOW-WASHERS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 173,043, dated February 1, 1876; application filed October 5, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, ANDREW J. MOSHER,
' of .Deering, in the county of Cumberland and end of which is attached a sponge, as is more fully hereinafter set forth. v
Figure l is a perspective view. Fig. 2 is a section on the line :0 w.
In the drawings, A represents the tank or water-holder, being V-shaped in vertical section." B is a partition, at the lower end being soldered to the back of the tank, and extends to the upper front corners, making a solid wall or partition, excepting, the aperture b at the top and the holes a across the bottom. To the lower end of the device is secured a sponge, O,- and to the back is secured a socket V for the reception of a handle, as desired.
The device being constructed as above described, to wash a window I place the device window or held in its proper position, the wa-' ter flows in small streams through the holes 61.,
the air entering through the aperture b, thus forming what I style my fountain-washer.
It is evidentthat this device could be used to advantage as a'scrubber by substituting a brush for the sponge.
What'I claim as my invention is The tank A, provided with partition B and openings at b, and the sponge (3, when constructed and combinedto operate as shown and described.
ANDREW J. MOSHER.
