Heretofore, mostly sanitary napkins and similar means have been used by Weinen for the purpose ot' absorbing menstruation blood. However, such absorbers are neither reliable iior comfortable. Valking often caused 'suoli irritation as may result in erythema and even intertrigo.
My invention is a new catameiiial appliance easily put into place, and easily removed. 1n the center it contains a small piece of toucliwood, which being neither too hard iior too soft, is an ideal absorber. This core of touchwood is enclosed in a layer of absorbent cotton, which in turn is surrounded vby cellulose having considerable absorbing power. 'Finally the whole pad is covered with absorbent gauze. A short piece ot' coloured silk string tied at one end of the pad, permits it to be easily removed.
On the annexed drawing, on whichvan enibodiiiient of the invention is illi'istrated, Fig. 1 being an elevation'ot the new pad and Fig. 2 a central longitudinal section thereof, 1 designates the Core of touch-wood, 2 a tli`in layer of absorbent cotton enclosing the piece of touchwood, 3 a thick layer of cellulose, 4 the outer envelope of gauze and 5 the silk string tied to one end of the pad.
As will be evident, such a pad is soft, ex-
