The shaft 28-is provided on its outer end with a sprocket 29, adapted to be driven by means of a chain 80, which in turn is driven bya sprocket 31' mounted on the as shaft 32 of the motor 17. The pull rod 57 is adjustably connected means of a clamping device 60 to anothen pull rod 61, which is pivbtall connected as at 62 to a pedal 63. T e eda 63 is hinged as at 64 to a member 65, w ich is pivotally connected by means of a screw 66 to the floor, whereby the pedal 63 may not only be depressed, but may also be swung sidewise, this motion beingpermitted by reason of the pivotal attachment of the member There is also secured to the floor, adjacent a portion of the pedal 63, a bracket member 67, provided with notches 68, into which notches the edal is adapted to be swun when in the e ressed position, thereby to old the standar 53 in its lowered 'tion, and conseuentl to hold the i er roller retracted rom t e upper pressing roller.
Mounted on the bearing portion 21 of each bracket 20 is a fin r member 70, which is pivotally suppo with t thereto in a bracket 71.. The free ends 72 of the finger mamas rial of the fabric adjacent the stitched portion thereof, to guide the loose edges of the same as the seam passes between the working surfaces of the rollers. Each of the finger members 70 is provided with an upward extension 7 3.,- which is engagedby means of a spring 74. In this manner the free ends 72 of the finger members are caused to bear resiliently against the material being operated v on, as aforesaid.
The table top may be formed of one or more 7 flat pieces of sheet metal 90, in which a suitableo ening may be provided for the exten sion 0 the standard 53 therethrough. 'Ihere may alio be provided a piece of sheet metal 91 extending upwardly at the rear of the table, to prevent the work from dropping ofi to the back thereof.

while the-other side of the seam will contact with the concave working surface of the rim member 22 oftheupper pressing roller. t will. of course, be understood that the finger members 70 will be manually raised to permit the insertion of: the material between the rollers. As soon as the idler 'roller'50 ispermitted to bear toward the upper pressi n roller, with the material the seam of whic is to be pressed interposed between the rollers. the material will now be fed forward, and at the same time the free ends 72 of the finger members 70 will guide the free edges 81 of the fabric 80, spreading the same out so as to enable them to be pressed flat as the fabric asses between the rollers. The action will continuous so long as the material is fed through the rollers, it being necessary merely for the operator to guide the same toward the free ends of the finger members.
It will be found that, in the use of the foregoing machine, seams may be readily and expeditlously pressed, and that the machine is not only adaptable for the pressing of ordinarygarmentseams, but is also particularly adaptable for preming the seams of garments such as caps and the like, the pressing of which is more than ordinarily dificult because of their uliar shape.

1. In a seam ressing machine, a pressing roller comprising a ring member having a pressing surface, cup shaped members supporting said ring member, means for constraining said cup members and said ring member to rotate in unison, and the cu members forming a hollow chamber wit in the roller structure.
2. In a seam pressing machine, a pressing roller comprising a ring member having a pressing surface, cup shaped members supporting said ring member, means for constraining said cu members and said ring member to rotate 1n unison, the cup members forming a hollow chamber within the roller structure, a burner mounted within said chamber, having outlets directed toward the ring member. r
3. In a seam pressing machine, a framework, brackets secured to and extending upwardly from said framework and provided with bearing portions at the up er ends thereof, a pressing roller journale in said bearings, said pressing roller comprising a ring nember having a pressin surface, cup shaped members supporting sai ring member, means 7 for constraining sald cup members and said ring member to rotate in unison, and the cup members forming a hollow chamber within the roller structure, a burner mounted with in said chamber, shafts extending from the cup members through the bearing portions of the bracket, one of said shafts being hollow,
a sleeve extending through said hollow shaft provided with means for preventing rotation of said sleeve, and a fuel supply pipe extending through said sleeve to the burner.
4.
