Description
13, 1929- J. v. SVENSON PETROLEUM VAPORIZER COOKING STOVE Filed April 12, 1927 Amy/gr Patented Aug, 113, i929.
UEH'ED Siliti JOHAN VICTOR SVENSON, F STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN.
PETROLEUM-VAPORIZEB COOKING STOVE.
Application filed April 12, 1927, Serial No. 183,165, and in Sweden April 13, 1928.
The present invention relates to an improvement in oil tanks for petroleum-vaporizer cooking stoves.
In such stoves hitherto known the oil tanks are made of sheet material and the bottom of the tank is fixed at the upper part by soldering. Also the tube for supporting theburner and the socket for the pump and tank lid as well as the supporting legs usu- 1 ally are fixed to the oil tank by soldering.
All these solderings and the operations belonging thereto are very unfavourable from manufacturing and economical points of view. Furthermore the oil tanks thus manufactured cannot be cleansed internally. According to the present invention all these inconveniences are eliminated, the oil tank being cast in two halves which are tightly and detachably connected, by means of screws for instance, to the legs or legs and standards for supporting the tank and the sauce-pans respectively. In the upper half of the tank the burner, the pump and the tanklid are screwed in without soldering.
In the accompanying drawing a petroleum-vaporizer cooking stove according to the present invention is shown, in vertical section in Figure 1, while Figure 2 illustrates the oil tank in plan view.
1 is the lower half and 2 the upper hait' of the oil tank. In the upper half 2 the burnor 3 is screwed in and this burner also holds the tube 4, which for that purpose is provided with a flange 5. 6 is the spirit cup, 7 the pump and 8 the tank lid with the air screw 9.
The halves of the tank which are cast of a suitable metal or alloy are held together by means o1 the legs 10 and the standards 13. The legs, for instance three in number,
are arranged around the outer circumference of the tank and are drawn through ears in the two halves of the tank, which are pressed together between nuts 12, arranged on the upper end of the threaded legs, and flanges 11 which serve as bolsters for the ears in the lower half of the tank, when the nuts 12 are tightened.
The standards 13 are screwed into ears in the lower half of the tank between the ears for the legs 10 and are provided with nuts 14 for pressing the upper half of the tank against the lower half.
For obtaining a satisfactory closing of the tank the one half may be provided with a tongue and the other with a corresponding groove 15 containing a suitable packing material. Such an arrangement however is not necessary. In some cases it is convenient that the standards be removably fitted.
According to the present invention the standards 18 in such a case are made in two parts, one tube like member inserted into the two halves of the tank as already described with regard to the standards 13 in the drawing and a rod-like member loosely fitted into the tubelike member.
The standards 13 may of course also be tted as the legs 10 or the latter may be fitted as the standards 13 or in any other convenient manner.
Having now particularly described the nature of my invention and the manner of its operation, what I claim is 1. A petroleum-vaporizer cooking stove comprising two superposed sections forming an oil tank, said sections being provided with peripheral flanges, a plurality of legs supporting said tank and having their upper ends engaging said flanges to hold the sections together, and a plurality of standards having their upper ends formed to support a vessel above said tank and having their lower ends engaging said flanges and cooperating with the upper ends of said legs to hold the sections together.
oil stove comprising two superof said apertures, and a plurality of standards having their upper ends extending above said burner and formed to support a vessel, and having their lower ends engaging in other of said apertures, the sections being thereby held together in liquid-tight relation.
J OHAN VICTOR SVENSON.
