This cloth means is a distinct feature oi my syringe and an important element that differentiates it from all other known fountain combs or like devices, inthat it is for the essential and desirable purpose of controlling and moderating the flow of liquids from the comb. It may be of ordinary cloth or of closely woven metal cloth. The layers of fine mesh cloth or fabric forming the screen are to prevent excessive flow or squirting of the liquid and excessive wetting of the scalp. This means is believed to be new and original. With the screen, my syringe is a scalp moistener, and not a squirter. T his screen is not for a filter. My syrii e is filled with liquids by unscrewing the applicator and removing the screen from mouth oi? container. The screen element is to be replaced when using light or thin fluids in ringe, but is not rted for use with thick or heavy shampoo fluids, unless desired by user. Any appropriate number of the thin cloth layers can be used to furnish the degree of fluid feed or scalp moistening desired.
From the foregoing description, it will be seen that, these improvements are of very considerable importance as to the convenience and effectiveness of the device.
It is not my intention to limit my patent protection to the exact details shown and described in the drawings and foregoing description, but changes may be made within the scope of the inventive ideas as implied and claimed.
What I claim as my invention is:
1. A scalp syringe or the like which includes a container having a rigid frusto-conical wall and a springy and depressible bottom, said container also including a neck or mouth portion at the opposite end from said bottom, an applicator including substantially rigid tubular teeth and a socket in immediate communication with one another, said socket being adapted to receive said neck and to engage therewith for securing the applicator on said container, a thin cloth screen fitted in said socket between the mouth of said con tainer and the hollows of the tubular teeth and against the margins of the said hollows, substantially as shown.
The structure defined by claim 1, said screen including a plurality of sheets of line mesh thin cloth having their peripheries fitted against the inner annular surface of said socket and their surfaces clamped between said neck or mouth portion and said applicator and against the margins of the said hollows.
3. The structure defined by claim 1, the said container having an annular oilset portion between said neck and said frusto-conical wall for engagement with a thumb and fingers while the palm of the hand presses the dein testimony whereof I aitlx my signature.
