platen j, on which the ax is placed, is verti cally adjustable, so that it can be adjusted to allow the punch to enter to just the desired point, and no deeper. The detaching-guard k, which detaches the ax from the punch when it moves upward, is also vertically adjustable.
I claim as my iuventi0n- The combination of the reciprocating punchstock, the adjustable platen, and the adj ustable detaching guard, substantially as described.
