This invention relates to an improved stand especially constructed to accommodate and support a paper hangers paste bucket and brush. I
The invention has more particular reference to a metallic stand of a foldable nature which is especially designed'for supporting a bucket of paste in an upright POSltlOIhFLIlCl for maintaining a complemental brush in a convenient position for ready use.
The structure is designed to be used 1n connection with the ordinary or conventional papering trestle or table.
Briefly, the invention comprises a stand which includes a pair of pivotally connected crossed legs having their upper ends formed into standards provided with opposed complemental members for embracing the mouth of the bucket.
A. special prop is associated with the pivoted portion of the legs and a latch is also employed here to aid in maintaining the stand in supporting position.
Mounted on the stand on one side is a brush supporting shelf.

As before indicated, the stand includes a pair of legs 3 which are disposed in crossed or intersecting relation and then pivotally connected together. The lower ends of the legs are fashioned to rest upon the floor or other supporting surface.
The upper ends of the legs are constructed to provide a pair of standards at the upper ends of which are semi-circular bands 5 arranged in opposed spaced relation to provide a sectional annulus to embrace the bucket. Incidentally, the bucket is seated in between bands 5, the standards 1, and rests upon the upper end portions of the legs 3.
Fastened to the legs is a prop generally designated by the reference character 6. This comprises a pair of pivotally connected feet 7 connected with the intersecting portions of the legs, through the medium of an appropriate connecting member 8 Incidentally these feet are disposed at right angles to the legs 4 in order to provide a four-point rest, or base for the stand.
' To aid in maintainance of the stand in opposite positions, I prefer to provide a pivoted latch 9 which has its lower end portion twisted as at 10 and notched to engaged one of the legs in the manner shown in Fig. 1.
This complemental leg is also provided with a notch to cooperate with the latch. Attention is now invited to a pan-like brush receiving shelf 11 fastened to one of the shanks. A strap 12, is fastened to the under side of this shelf and includes depending portions 13 and 14:. The free end of the portion 14 is formed with a notch engaging the standard as shown in Fig. 1. Also, the inner end portion of the strap 12 is twisted and connected with a corresponding twisted bracket 15 riveted to the upper end of this same strap.
It will thus be seen that a pivotally mounted shelf is provided together with a brace for holding the shelf in horizontal brush supporting position.
A device of this kind is particularly advantageous in that it serves to support the paste bucket at an elevation to overcome frequent dlpping, such as is necessary in applylng the paste in the ordinary method. This of course holds the brush in a convenient po-- sition, so that it can be picked up. and laid down at frequent intervals to save time, in case the customary way of laying the brush on the table or laying it in some out of the way place.
These and other advantages and features have doubtless been made apparent from the following description and drawings, for which reason a more lengthy description is thought unnecessary.
Changes in shape, size, and rearrangement of parts coming within the field of invention claimed may be resorted to if desired.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is 1. In a structure of the class described, a stand comprising a pair of pivotally connected crossed legs, standards rising from said legs, semi-circular bands at the upper ends of said standards, forming a split annulus for surroundinga receptacle, and a prop associated with the crossed portion 0f Said legs.
