IMPROVE MENT IN COMBINED IMPLEMENTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 171,487, dated December 28, 1875; application filed A June 7, 1875,
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, LEVI SoHAEFFER, of the city and county of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a Oombined Household Tool, of which the following is a specification:
My invention consists of a combination tool, cast in a single piece, having at one end adevice for lifting stove or range covers, plates, 850., a tack-dliver, and an ice-pick and canopener, and at the other end a tack-drawer.
The handle has slots throughout the greater portion of its length, which constitute a wrench.
In the accompanying drawings, Fig. l is a side view of my combined tool. Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same. Fig. 3 is an end view.
Like letters of reference in all the figures indicate the same parts.
A is the handle of the. combined tool, which has atone end a hook, B, for lifting the covers of stoves, ranges, &c. B is a reversed hook, O, which is used in connection with the hook B for lifting a hot plate or other article, the under side of the plate, near its edge, bearing upon the lower hook, and the upper side being held firmly against the upper hook by the weight of the plate. On the under side of the hook B is a hammer, D, for driving tacks, &c. In connection with Above the hook the hook O is a cutter, E, which is used for an i ice-pick. It is also used as an opener for tin cans. When used for this purpose it is forced through the head of the can until the stops at a rest upon the same; the edge is then forced forward, as the handle 3A is vibrated up and down,'until the head is cut out. The forward edge of the cutter has an inward curve,
, which facilitates its operation as the edge and tack-drawer, as that is not new; but
What I claim as my invention is- The implement herein described, consisting of the handle A, provided with slots b 12, plate and lid lifter B, reverse hook G, tack-extractor F, ice-cutter and can-opener E, having stops at a and inward curve f, constructed to operate as shown and set forth.
