Referring specifically to the drawings, my invention, in its present embodiment, comprises a cover including rigid top and bottom sections Ti and 13, respectively, and a. flexible back section F, which serves to connect the other two sections to form a cover for a plurality of sheets of paper S which is capable of being openedand closed in the manner of a book. The sections '1 and B are constructed to provide compartments and 16 therein opening into the inner ends of the sections and into which the ends of the back section F are extended and movable, all in a manner to ai ow a longitudinal adjustment of the top .1 bottom sections on the back section so as to vary the spacing of the confronting ends of the top and bottom sections and to thereby vary the capacity of the binder as a Whole to accommodate any number of sheets S, i. e. within certain limits.

As shown in Figs. 2 and S, relatively small plates 17 are riveted within the compartmeats 15 and 16, and similar plates 18 are riveied to the opposite ends ofthe back section F. By operating the binder in this manner the cover is adjusted to snugly fit the sheets therein so as to cause all of the sections to lie contiguous to the sheets.
