it should be' apparent that the discharge ports 18 are arranged at opposite sides ot and 1n close proximity to the teeth ot the 'saws 4, and *thatA the discharge ports 2O which 'arelocated in advance of and between 'directly abovefthe saw teeth.
I the discharge ports 18, are arranged directly vabove and in closeproximity to the teeth ot'y the saws. In other words, a series of threel discharge ports is provided for each of the saws 4, two of the ports of each series ex- 4tending`.transverselyof thel discharge end of the doli'ng' -nozzle andbeing arranged at opposite sides ofv the saw teeth and the remaining port of each series extending longitudinally of said eind and being arranged Due 'to the relative arrangement of the vdischarge ports and their Varrangement with respeetto the teeth of the 'saws 4', the lint is positively and LcompletelyVV removed from the saws by the streams of air'discharging from the ports.
' While I yhave described the principle vot operation of thel invention, together with the device 'which I'now consider to be the best embodiment thereof, I desire` to have vit unl charge ports arranged` adjacent the lateral Sidesrof the aah. 1
2, A cotton 'gin comprising, in combina-vr tion with 3the gin saws, an air chute, and a doing nozzleV communicating Vwith 'the air y chute :and Ahaving aninclined discharge end arranged between the sides and across the V'ger-ipheries' of the saws, the d oling nozzle eilig4 provided at said end thereof with ports varrangedto deliver streams of air i against the tops of the saw teeth and ports arranged to deliver streams of air against the sides of the saw teeth.
A cotton gin comprising, in combination with the gin saws, an air chute, and a doiing nozzlev having its discharge end arranged in close proximity to the teeth of the saw and provided with channels receivingr the saw teeth, the nozzle being provided with discharge ports arranged in front of and at thesides of said channels.
1. A cotton gin comprising, in combination with the gin saws, an air chute, and a dofling nozzle provided with a series ot three discharge ports foreach saw, certain of the ports extending across the sav and the remainder being arranged at the sides of the saw. l
5. A doiiing nozzle for a cotton gin provided at its rear side with alternately arranged exterior channels and interior air passages, the channels and air passages extending upwardly from the discharge end of thev nozzle, the nozzle being provided forwardly of said first air passages with a second air passage extending entirely across the same, triangular blocks arranged in the lower portions of said lirst air passages, and triangular blocks arranged in the lower portion of said second air passage at points between said first air passages.
6. A doffing nozzle for a cotton gin provided at its rear side with relatively s mecd air passages each having a pair of discharge ports, and provided at its front side with an air passage extending across said Irst passages and having discharge ports each arranged between each pair of said first discharge ports.
7. doing nozzle for a cotton gin provided at its rear side with relatively s )aced air passages each having a pair of disc large ports, the nozzle being provided at its front side with an air passage extending acrossI said first air passages and having discharge ports each arranged between each pair of said lirst discharge ports, and elements arranged in said passages to elfeet an inewase in the velocity of the aiijas it approaches the discharge ports.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
