This invention relates to improvements in display devices, and more particularly'to, a rotary display device for exhibiting aplurality ofrolls or bolts of cloth.
Many types of exhibitors have heretofore been proposed, and likewise devices for holding bolts of clothin an upright position for exhibition to a tentative customer.
According to the present invention, a retary device of this type is provided which differs from preceding devices in its cheapness of construction and simplicityof arrangement, and in its steadiness and ease of use. 7 i
Another object of this invention is to provide a structure which may be constructed of light materials and in which the holding elements brace the supportingtable top.
A further feature of the invention is the,
provision of the holding devices so that they are practically self-supporting irrespective oi the holding means, whereby they yield added strength to the holding means which locates them for easy traveling or rotation infront of a customer.
vVith these andother objects in view, as will appear in the course of the following specificationvand claims, I have shown one illustrative form of the invention on the accompanying drawings, in which:

According to this invention, a bolt goods holder of peculiar shape, which resembles a Z in its horizontal projection, is mounted upon a support: the ends of themember or holder are usually secured to the support, while the middle portion is bent upward into a vertical plane whereby to form a loop to enter a bolt of goods, so that the holder will support this belt of goods in a vertical position for displa In particular, a number of these boltoods holders are arranged on a rotative disk hereinafter called a table top. This table top may be made of thin material and the several bolt-goods holders are secured thereto for substantially the length of their end portions, whereby to stifi'en and reinforce the table top. Furthermore, it is preferred to have the respective vertical plane of the middle portion of each bolt-goods holder extend chordally of the rotatable table top, i. e., neither passing through the axis of rotation nor being substantially tangent to the outer diameter of the table top, but located some where between these positions so that both an end and a part of a side of a belt of goods is displayed. 7
In the accompanying drawings, a base member 10 is provided'with feet 11 by which it is suported on a counter or the floor, etc, and with a central upstanding spindle member 12, as well as the shoulder 13 to support a ball-bearing represented generally at 14. A table top has a central aperture fitting the spindle 12, and is preferably circular, polygonal, etc. in shape. It is represented in the present illustration as being flat on its top. The engagement of the spindle 12 and of the ball bearing 14 stiflens this table top against rocking about a horizontal axis. I
Mounted on this tabletop 15 are the boltgoods holders 16,. eight of these being employed in the illustration. l is shown in Fig. 3,.each of thesemembers 16 has an end 17 which is straight and is mounted upon the table top 15, so that in conjunction with the similar ends ofeach of the other bolt holders 16 it't'ormsa polygon, being a regular octagon in .the illustration, on theupper side of the table top 15, thereby bracing'and stiffening the table top when these-members 17 are secured in position by the individual clips 18 thereof, which may be of metal or fibre material fixedly attached to the table top itself. The other end 17 .of each of these bolt holders 16 is preferably bent at a slight angle'with respect to the first member, and is likewise .r
straight and secured to the table top 15 by a similar clip 19. These inner ends are arranged likewise to form a polygon for stifiening and reinforcing the table top 15. It will be noted that any line, such as aa in Fig. 1, passed through the center of rotation of the spindle of the table 15 and the spindle 12 and through the extremity of one end of a boltholder, will pass substantially through the middle of the other end of the same or another holder, or in other words, the sides oi the two polygons are staggered so that there is not a line of weakness extending diametrically across the table top.
It will be further noted that the rebent formation of the middle portion is arranged for each bolt holder in a vertical plane, and
is illustrated forming a substantially triangular loop which is adapted to pass into the center of a bolt of goods, whereby to hold the bolt in a vertical position. As shown in Fig. 1, a bolt of goods B'located on one of the bolt holders presents its outer edge for inspection and also a major portion of its side, without being obscured by overlapping of the next bolt BB. In this way, it is usually unnecessary to removea portion of the goods from the holder for first exhibition. The

In a display stand, a base, a table mounted on said base for rotation about a vertical axis, and a plurality of bolt-goods holders mounted'on the table top, each of said bolt goods holders comprising a wire member having its ends parallel to the table top and being bent lntermediate its ends n a vertical plane to form a loop adapted to be received within a bolt of goods to support the same in a vertical position, and means to secure 7 said ends to said table whereby to'stilien and reinforce the table. l 2. In a display stand, a base, a table mounted on said base for rotation about avertical axis, and a plurality of bolt-goods holders mounted on the table top, each of said boltgoods holders comprising a Wire member having straight end portions and a looped middle portion adapted to be received Within a bolt of goods to support the same in a vertical position, said looped middle portion lying in a vertical plane intersecting said table at achordal line with respect to the periphery thereof so thatan edge and substantially one side of a bolt of goods thereon is exposed for examination. In a display stand, a thin table, and a plurality of bolt-goodsvholders mounted on the table top, each of said boltgoodsholders comprising a wire member having its ends arranged contact with thetable top and a looped middle portion adapted to be received within a bolt of goods to support the same in a vertical position, said ends being arranged so-thatone respective end of each holder forms one side of respective polygons having their centers coincident, a line from such coincident centers passing through an angle of one polygon intersecting the side of the other polygon, whereby said polygons reinforce said table.
