A structure embodying the features of my invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing forming a part of this application, in which: Y
Fig. 1 is a front perspective view of a chair embodying the features of my invention.
Fig. 2 is a fragmentary rear perspectlve View.
Fig. 3 is a horizontal section on a line corresponding to line 33 of Fig. 2.
Referring to the drawing, my improved chair in the embodiment illustrated comprises a seat 1 supported by angle iron legs 52 disposed to face inwardly. The seat has a metal rim 3 to which the legs are secured by the rivets 4. braces 5 and (5.
The back 7 is supported by the upright bars 8 which are flat and are disposed against the. rear sides of the rear legs as shown in Figs. 2 and The U-shaped elampsS) are arranged to embrace the back uprights and legs with their bights 1O engaging the up rights. The cross bars 12 of the clamps are provided with inwardly-projecting lugs 13, the lugs being arranged to engage the inner sides or the rear arms of the angle iron leg members, as shown in F The bolts 14- securely clamp the parts together.
' By this means the flat bars 8 are very effectively secured to the legs and in a manner that permlts the vertlcal ad ustment of the back as may be deslred.

I have illustrated my improvements in an. embodimentwhich I have found very practical. 'I have not attempted to show various adaptations of my improvements which I contemplate as I believe the disclosure made will enable those skilled in the art to embody or adapt thesame as may be desired.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. The combination with an angle iron member, of a flat frame member disposed against one arm thereof w th one edge in the plane of the outer side of the other arm,
a U-shaped clamp disposed with its bight embracing and closely fitting said flat member, onearm of the clamp being disposed against the side of the angle iron member with which the edge of said flatmember is aligned, the arms of said clamp having threaded end portions, a cross bar having openings to receive the ends of said clamp and an inwardly projecting lug engaging the inner side of the arm ofsaid angle iron member against which said fiat member is disposed and in opposed relation thereto, and clamping nuts threaded upon the ends of the arms of said clamp.
2. The combination with an angle iron member, of a flat frame member disposed against one arm thereof with one edge in the 1 plane of the outer side of the other arm, a U-shaped clamp disposed with its bight embracing said flat member, the arms of said clamp having threaded end portions, a cross bar having openings to receive the ends of said clamp and an inwardly projecting lug In witnesswhereof I have hereunto set my hand.
