This invention relates to an article of haberdashery, and more particularly to a trouser support, and it is an object of this invention to provide a device adapted to be worn over the shoulders to hold the trousers elevated, and which, at the same time, will hold the upper garments (especially the shirt) against the ack of the user and prevent the same from coming out of the trousers. The device, in addition to its function as an article of apparel, possesses certain therapeutic features, in that it will hold the shoulders erect at all times when worn, and may also be used to correct round shoulders.

WVith these and many other objects in view, which will more readily appear as the nature of the invention is better understood, the same consists in-the novel construction, combination, and arrangement of parts, which i will hereinafter be more fully described, illustrated, and claimed.

The essential features of the invention involved in the carrying out of the objects indicated are susceptible to modification; but a preferred embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawings, in

The figures described above adequately illustrate my invention, and the following detailed description is comn'ienwrate with the above mentioned drawings in enabling an artisan to construct and assemble the constituent parts of the same. a

The device involves in itsgeneral organization, a pair of shoulder elements 10 and 11, which elements resemble the form of a hook, and have enlarged portions 12 and 13 on their ends. A pair of eyelets are formed at 14 and 15 respectively, and adjustable elastic tapes 16 and 1! are attached to these eyelets. These elastic tapescross each other as at 18, where they are firmly sewed together and terminate in tabs 19 and 20, having button-holes 21 and 22 therethrough. A second pair of tapes 23 and 24- (slightly longer than the tapes 16 and 17) have their ends secured at the point where 1927. Serial No. 192,258.

the tapes 16 and 17 cross and extend outwardly and downwardly. These tapes 23 and 24 similarly terminate in tabs 25 and 26', having button-holes therein.

This description is deemed suiiicient to adequately define the nature of my invention, and in actual use the shoulder elements 10 and 11 are inserted over the shoulders in the manner shown in Figure 1, with the enlarged portions 12 and 13 resting against or adjacent the collar bone. The tapes 16 and 17 extend downwardly across the back, and the buttonholes 21 and 22 are attached to the trousers a 30 and 31, suitable buttons being provi de d at these points for their reception. The tapes 23 and 24.- extend around the rear of the waist and are attached to the trousers at the sides 32 and 33. The adjustments at 34 and 35 permit the device to accommodate persons of difier'ent height.

While the shoulder members 10 and 11 may be formed inany suitable manner and of any suitable material, it is preferable to form the same of spring steel 40-, covered by a suitable fabric 1-1- such as leather or the like, and stitched as at 42.

From the foregoing, it is thought that the construction, use and many advantages of the herein-described shoulder brace and trouser support will be adequately understood. It will be further understood that certain mate rial alterations in the construction may be effected without having a deleterious effectupon the efliciency of my device. The minor details in the construction will at all times of cr. urse, be performed within the scope and spirit of the sub-joined claims.

VJ hat I claim by this invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:

1. A device of the character described comprising a pair of hook-shaped shoulder elei'nents having eyelets thereon, flexible elastic tapes attached to said eyelets and attached to each other at medial points, and tabs on one end of said tapes for attaching the same to a pair of trousers.

2. A device of the character described C0111- prising a pair of hook-shaped shoulder ele ments, an eyelet on each of said elements, an adjustable elastic tape extending through each of said eyelets and crossing each other inedially, there being tabs on one end of said tapes for attaching the sameto a pair of trousers.

3. A device as claimed in claim 2, and in addition, elongated tapes attached to said first mentioned tapes at their point of junction, said elongated tapes having tabs on their ends, also adapted to be attached to a pair of trousers.

4. A device of the character described comprising a pair of hook-shaped shoulder elements, said elements being formed of fabriccovered sprin steel eyelets in one end of said elements, elastic tapes extending through said eyelets and attached to each other at medial points, tabs having button-holes therethrough on one end of said tapes for attaching the same to the rear portion of a pair of trousers, and elongated tapes attached to said first mentioned tapes at their points of junction, there being tabs having button-holes therethrough on the ends of said elongated tapes, said elongated tapes being attachable to the sides of said trousers.
