Description

Patented Dec. 25, 1928.
EDWARD J 'IBRAUER, or ST.
LOUIS, MISSOURI, ASSIGNOR TO BRAUER BROS, INC., CORPORATION OF MISSOURI.
norsrnn.
Application filed September 2, 1927. Serial No. 217,029.
This invention pertains to holsters, and more particularly to pistol holsters.
One of the objects of this invention is to provide a holster with. a support for suspending the same from a belt, such that, the
holster may be mounted on the belt or removed therefrom without removingv or loosening the belt.
Further objects will appear from the followingdescript-ion, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, which illustrates a pistol holster embodying this invention.
Referring to the drawing, 1 designates the body of the holster, which may be of any suitable design and construction. The upper part of the holster is provided with a flap 2,
which is turned downwardly so as to form a loop adapted to receive the belt. The lower end of the flap 2 is provided with a strap 3,
which passes around the holster body so as to embrace the same snugly and secure the lower end of the flap 2. The strap 3 is divided so as to form, in effect, two straps joined at their middle point by a fastener 4. A snap fastener is shown at 4 in the drawing, al-
though a buckle or other suitable fastening may be used.
It will be seen that this invention provides a holster of simple construction, which may be mounted on the belt by simply opening the fastener 4 so as to detach the strap 3 from the body 1, and then passing the flap 2 behind the belt and again securing the strap 3 around the body. The holster may, of course, be removed by reversing theabove operations.
It is obvious that various changes may be made, within the scope of the appended claims, in the details of construction without departing from the spirit of this invention.
It is, therefore, to be understood that this invention is not limited to the specific details shown and described.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed is:
1. A holster having a downwardly turned 4:; flap forming aloop adapted to receive a belt, the lower end of said flap being provided with a strip embracing the holster body but removable therefrom in order to open said loop to permit its removal from the belt.
2. A holster having a downwardly turned flap forming a loop'adapted to receive a'belt, the lower end of said flap being rovided with strips embracing the holster-body and detachably secured together at their ends.
3. A holster having a downwardly turned flap forming 'a loop adapted to receive a belt, the lower end of said flap being provided with strips embracing the holster body and detachably secured together on the outside 60 of the holster.
4. A holster having a downwardly turned flap forming a loop adapted to receive a belt, the lower end of said flap being provided with strips embracing the holster body, and 08 a snap fastener detachably securing said strips together.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature this 9th day of August, 1927.
EDWARD J. BRAUER.
