A plurality of cloth layers is thereby formed, "joined at the ends thereof by a number of creases, Each pair of adjacent creases is inserted into the*` opening of slit 11 so that the line of the folded portion of said cap band will be approximately perpendicular' to the line of the slit.y The cap is thus retained in said member 11, the cap crown being held against the mid-portion 1lc of the member 11', and the creased portions 121 of the cap being secured linsaid slits against displacement, as is clearly shown in Figs. 2, 4 and 5.` The mid-portion 11 covers the crown portions of the cap and prevents it from beingsoiled.

Having thus described o ur invention, we claim as new` and desirev to secure by Letters Patent: ,y

1. A` cap-package' comprising arelatively stitf'iat member havinga pair of elongated slits extending on opposite sides of a midportion thereof, anda ca f having creasedV portions inserted in' said s its, the crownof the cap abutting said mid-portion. v
