IMPROVEMENT IN TRACE-BUCKLES.

The trace-buckle is composed of.' two partsthe frame A, Fig. 1I, and the sliding wedge B, Fig. III. The frame A has twoside pieces, H, with cross-bars a a at the bottom, to which the haine-tug is fastened, with recesses K andprojections L, together with a cross-bar, c, on the top end, under which the trace passes.

In attaching the buckle to the harness or trace, the hametug is made fast to the lower cross-bars of the frame, the sliding wedge is put partly into the frame, the trace is then passed through between the lower cross-bars and the upper ones, and, by slightly bending the trace and pushing it forward, one of its holes receives the tongue or stud at the end ofthe Wedge. `The trace may then be pulled, when the sliding wedge enters the frame, and the trace is made fast. There is no danger of its becoming accidentally detached, and the operation for shortening or lengthening the trace is so easy that it may be altered in a moments time.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A trace or harness buckle consist-ing of the frame A, having side pieces H, lower crossba-rs c a, top bar c, side anges K, and projections L, in combination with the sliding wedge B, having rolling sides, cross-bars d and g, recesses N, and -ilanges O, and a tongue or stud, e,'on its front cross-bar, substantially as herein specilied.
