Our invention relates to window screens and has for its object to provide means for mounting the screen upon al window frame wit-hout requiring the construction of a rigid I screen frame. The invention contemplates means for removably attaching a section of screening upon a window frame and arranging a rubber frame or mat about theA edges of the screen insucl1 a manner as to V provide a neat finish for the same and to provide means foreasily. and quickly snaping the mat in position thereon.
Another objectof the invention is to providel a. screen Of this character which may be 35 easily and quickly arranged in position upon a window and speedily removable when desired so as to permit the screen together with the frame to be rolled in a neat and compact manner for storing.
A still further object is to provide a screen of this character which is extremely simple in construction, of suitable size to fit any window frame Iand inexpensive 4to manufacture.
Other ob] ects and advantages reside in the special construction,4 combination and arrangement of the various elements forming the invention as more fully hereinafter described and claimed. reference being had to the accompanying drawings forming part 3o hereof, wherein:

Referring now to the drawing we have disclosed our invention comprising ar section of screening, preferably Of wire, indicated at 5, which Amay be eut to a convenient size 4o to fit over a window frame and secured thereto about its edges by screws 6 having heads 7 arranged to be spaced away from the edge of the window frame. About the edges of the screening is arranged a continuous strip of thin rubber indicated at 8 comprising a mat or frame and having openings through which the head of the screw 7 may be inserted so as to permit the rubber frame to fit snugly about the edge of the screen.

As clearly shown in Figure 2 of the drawing the base of. thevfastcner engages the surface of the rubber frame or lmat so as to secure the same in position upon the edge of the At each upper corner of the rubber frame is arranged a coil spring ll having one end attached to the frame with its Opposite endv fastened to the window frame so as to prevent thecorner of the frame from sagging and lto assist in holding the frame in position upon the screen. Likewise the Openings at the top of the frame and along each side are formed into slots indicated at 12 to permit ample space within which the screw 6 may be adjusted withrespect to the frame.
The rubber will serve to keep the screer from stretching and strengthen it so as to cause it to lay tight against the window frame and secured in position by means of the fasteners 9. At the same time the frame may be easily and quickly removed from position upon the window frame when it isV desired to store the screens during the winter months and the rubber frame being ofa fiexible nature may be rolled together with vthe screen during such Storing.
It is obvious that the invention is susceptible to various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit thereof Or vthe scope of the appended claim and we accordingly claim all such forms of the-device to which we are entitled.
