trousers or of the shirt and which in use does not introduce any wrinkles or creases in the parts of the'shirt which are exposed to view.

Another object is to provide a device of the character noted which is devoid of any elastic parts subject to deterioration. and yet wholly dispenses with the need for different sizes or lengths as required with belts and suspenders,

to fit men of various heights and girths.

In the accompanying drawings in which is shown one of various possible embodiments of the several features of the invention,

Referrin now to the drawings I have shown in Figs. 2 and 3 a desirable embodiment of the invention comprising a short strap illustratively of leather, having buttonholes 11 near the opposite ends thereof spaced at distance such as to-be readily anchored upon the air of contiguous suspender buttons 12 a p 'ed usually at the inside of the waist band 0 mens trousers. Midway between the ends of the strap there is rigidly secured a supporting structure including an upstanding metal bail or loop 13 o l? reduced width at its closed or looped and 115m. The loop is that of a pinch fastener, ether. element of which comprises a limber tab 15 at the outer end of which is mounted by appropriate metallic fastener clasp 16 the usual button orshank 17 provided withv rubber sleeve 17'. In a preferred embodiment the wider or base ends of the loop 13am providediwith a bracket having eyes 19 encircling-the arms of the loop and having cross bars 20, 21 connecting said eyes, about the lower of which the base of the tab 15 is anchored at .loop 15'.

.According to my invention the pinch fas tener loop 13 is mounted rigidly with respect to the strap- 10. I have shown one of numerous possible constructions for effecting such rigid mount. Preferably the support comprises a. pair of rigid metal wire legs 22, 23 formed integral with an enlarged preferablyrectangular connecting frame portion 24 which is firmly'attached to the leather strap preferably by anchoring stitches 25;

attached by stitching 27 to cover the otherwise exposed frame portion and to afford a protective covering for the rigid metal frame which relieves pressure of the latter against the body of the wearer. The line of stitching 27 as shown, preferably extends exteriorly about the anchoring frame in the preferred,

embodiment and thus also affords a pocket for said frame.

In use thestrap 10 is merely applied by its buttonholes 11 over an associated pair of the usual Suspender buttons, whereupon before the fiy of the trousers is closed the materialof the shirt is doubled over as at 30 contiguous to the button 17 and folded over said button the shirt tail 31 extending downward therebelow. As shown in Fig. 1, two of the units are used, one anchored at the right pair of suspender buttons and one at the left pair.v It will be understood, of course, that a third such 'unit may be employed and anchored at the rear pair of suspender buttons and similarly applied.

By my support, the trousers are efiectively anchored upon and sustained by the shirts othat the downward thrust of the trousers is transmitted through the shirt and' exerted upon the shoulders of the wearer, the substantial shirt' ijshoulder area distributing the stress, so that even with a shirt of relatively the shirt in place and prevents the shirt tail from riding outward or upward past the waist band.

In use, mygarmentholding device is not only entirely concealed but it does not intro-' duce any unsightly puckers or creases in the exposed part-of the shirt.

My support does not entail the least modification in the construction of the trousers or in the conventional arrangement of buttons or clasps,thereon,-nor does it. involve any departure from the usual construction of shirts or the rearrangement of buttons or buttonholes thereon or the provision of extra buttonholes or buttons, clasps, or other modification. v

The support moreover effects considerable economies from the standpoint of the manufacturer and retailer in that, unlike suspenders or belts there is no need for providing different lengths or sizes to fit thevarious sizes and girths of men. A single size will obviously serve for any man regardless of his height, weight or girth.

Apart from the foregoing the support is moreover inherently less costly than belts or' suspenders and is more durable in that it is not subject to stretching or elastic fatigue, as it need include no elastic element, 1

It will thus be seen that there is herein described a device in which the several features of this invention are embodied, and which device in its action attains the various objects of the invention and is well suited to meet the requirements of, 'ractical use.

As many changesco d be made in the above construction, and many apparently widely different embodiments of this invention could be made without departin from the scope thereof, it is intended that a l matter contained in the above description or shown in the accompanying drawings shall be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense. I

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is: I

1. A garment support for mens wear comprising a holding band adapted to be mount- .ed at a pair of ordinary trouser suspender buttons, a metal frame secured to said band between the ends thereof and including an upwardly extending pinch fastener loop and a limber tab hinged at the lower part of said frame and carryin the button of the pinch fastener loop for pinching the shirt material between the sides of the loop.

2. A garment fastener comprising a short strap havin a pair of buttonholes near the ends thereo a metal frame structure having an anchoring frame part secured against the support band by stitching, said frame having a downwardly extending pair of arms, an upwardly extending unitary pinch fastener loop therebetween, and a limber button carrying tab hinged at the lower part of the frame.

3. A garment fastener comprising a strap to be attached to the trouser Waist band, a metal frame rigidly secured to said strap, a

metal pinch fastener loo extending upward hetween the sides of sai frame, a metal fas- -tener strap having eyes mounting the ends of said loop and secured to the ends of said frame, said strap including a cross-bar and a limber tab about said cross-bar having a pinch fastener button at the outer end thereof.
