- The cylindrical portion 24' of the pivot pin ts into a bore 37 of a support 38 on a suitable braclret 39 adapted to be secured to the door 'support or jamb; Interposed betweenl this member 38 and the shoulder 231s an anf vnular collar havinor a bore of the' diameter substantially equal to the diameter Vof theV cylindrical portion 24 and this annular collar indicated by 40 has its upper and' lower surface provided with knurled portions, as indicated by 42 in Fig. 3. When it is desired to align the door7 the nut 44 is loosened and the il in may be vreadily rotated in respect tothe support- 38 until the position of the door in respect tothe jalnb isobtained. When the desired position has been decided upon the nut 44 is screwed along the screw threaded portion 25 and thereby the `shoulder V23 is forced against the knurled portion 42 of the annular collar 40 and at the same time the other surface having the knurled portion of the annular colla-r is forced against a seat 46 of the supportc38. VBy this engagement the knurled surface of thecollar 40 with the shoulder 23V and the support. 38 are very securely held and a tightvwedgin'g action is obi tained which i's of such a` character that when i the nut 44 hasbeen screwed tight then the door is aligned and the `parts properly held in position. v Y

Vhat is claimed as the invention and is desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:
A spring hinge comprising an apertured bracket, a pivot pin seated in the aperture in the bracket, means for locking the pin in fixed position in the bracket, the pivot pin being substantially cylindrical and having vertically extending shoulder means between the upper and lower ends thereof,- said shoulder mea-ns being swaged out of the cylindrical EMIL BOMMER.
