T. C. JENSEN RACING GAME VALVE Nov. 13, 1928.

UNITED STATES THOMAS CHRISTIAN JENSEN, yor Y corENHAeEN, DENMARK.
RACING GANE VALVE.
Application led August 1, 1927. Serial No. 209,991.
It is known to employ betting games consisting of a plurality of inflatable rubber dolls which are arranged alongside ofk each other, each doll being inconnnunication with a rotatable pump or a valve to a container of compressed air, which when turned will allow air to enter into the doll. The game consists inv several persons each simultaneously inflating his doll by turning a pump or valve so that the one whose doll explodes first wins the game.
With such games it is necessary thatl the air escapes from all other dolls in the same moment the first "of them explodes. If this is not the case it could easily happen that two or more dolls explode. either simultaneously or shortly after each other so that doubts could arise as to who had won.V the game.
The present invention relates to an ar-` rangement for such gamesby which it is providedthat the air escapes from all other dolls as soon as the first of them explodes In the accompanying drawing a construetional form of such arrangement according to the present invention is exemplified.
Fig. 1 shows the arrangement in side elevation, in connection with an inflated doll. Fig. 2 shows the arrangement by itself, 3e seen from above.
The game consists of afplurality of inflatable dolls 1 which are arranged behind each other on a base 27 the dolls l being fixed in sockets 3 which can in known manner be drawn down by rods 4 so as to render them accessible for fitting thel dolls whereupon these are lifted up tightly against a ring 5 so that they will be hermetically tight on the sockets 3. Flexible tubes 6 lead to the said sockets 3, which tubes are in communication with valves 7 which shall hereinafter be described in a more detailed manner. Air is conducted to these valves 7 through pipes 8 which communicate with the pumps or valves operated by the persons joining in the game (these pumps or valves are not shown as they shall not be included in the present invention). To the valves 7 are fitted short pipes 9 the one ends of which are connected to the pipes 8 and the other ends are connected to flexible tubes 6. The pipes 9 have besides holes 10 which lead into the valve easings 7 in which the valve bodies 11 are disposed which when opened will put the valve casings 7 and with them the pipes pivoting on a shaft 16 which itself is jour-Y nalled inthe base 2. The arms 15 have eyes 17 for springs 18 the other ends of which are engaged on standards 19 on the base 2. The springs 18 tend to lift the arms 5 and with them the rail 13. On the arms 15 is furthermore fitted an abutment rail 20 engaging with a notched cam 21 on a shaft 22 journalled in the base. I The shaft 22 carries arms 23 each of which supports a verticalstem 24 which is guided in the base 2.
On the heads of the dolls, hats 25 rest, which by means of springs 26 attached to the base 2 tend to press downwards. When these springs 26 move downwards they will strike against the stems 24.
The notched cam '21 has two notches 27 and 28 of which notch 27 holds the abutment rail down, so that the rail 13 clears the valves 11 while the rail 2() engaging the notch 28 is lifted so much that at this position the rail 13 will open the valves 11.
' The arrangement operates in the following manner:
As the dolls are gradually more and more inflated the hats 25 will be lifted putting the springs 26 more and more under tension.
As soon as one of the dolls explodes its corresponding spring 26 will suddenly strike downwards and against the stem 24. This stem will force the arm 23 round in the direction of the arrow a, so that the cam 21 will be moved away from the abutment rail 20. Thereby the arms 15 become free and are by the springs 18 quickly drawn upwards so that the rail 13 strikes against all valves 11 which are thereby opened so that the air can escape through the holes 12 from the not 100 yet exploded dolls.
This whole process proceeds with great rapidity so that no other dolls except the first will find time t0 be exploded.
What I claim as new is:
1. In a game with al series of inflatable dolls, al rail, above this rail a series of valves, adapted to .be opened when said rail is lifted, said rail fitted on arms held down by a cam rail on a shaft operatable under action of the 11| exploding of a doll, springs adapted to lift said arms, on the said cam being turned.
2. In a gaine with a series of inflatable dolls, a rail, above said mil a series of'valves,
"' adapted to be opened when saidrili's'll'iffd,
said rail fitted on arms held down by a cani rail on a shaft operatable under actonfof the exploding of a, doll, springs adapted to liftk said arms, on said cam being turned, arms n ille shaft of said @am rail, on these arms s'ten's in the path of springs which will be pnt under tension by the inflation of the dell@ r'e'l'esed downwards against said stems `on a doll be exploded.
In' testimony whereof I aix my signature.
THOMAS CHRISTIAN JENSEN.
