Referring now in detail to the drawings, I will describe the invention in the order in which the work moves through the mechanism from the printing mechanism.
In the drawings, .1 have shown or indicated three printed sheets, A, B and (I, com ing from the printing mechanism (not shown), and passing, respectively, throiigh pairsof rollers, 5, 5; 6, 6; and 7 7, the sheet A passing over the/ roller 8, and out to the delivery mechanism, designated as a whole, 9, while both thesheets B and C, also pass over the roller. 8, but are directed over the folding horn 10, and are then directed through the folding rollers, 11 and 12, and are delivered in folded condition at right angles to the delivery movement of the sheet A, as will be indicated in Fig. 3, in which the flat work, sheet A, is shown in straight broke'n lines, and the folded sheets are indicated b the short broken lines at B.

The delivery mechanism for the folded Work, including the rollers 11--12, which receive the sheets Band C from, the folding horn, 10, is driven by a similar series of inter-meshing gears, 25, from a gear 26, on the power shaft 19, as will be seen in Fig. l. A guide roller 12 turns the folded paper from rollers 11 and 12 to right angle and directs it to feed rollers Gr G, from which it is directed out to delivery rollers D D, as indicated in light broken lines in Fig. 2.1
In order to control the drive of the two delivery mechanism-s from the main drive shaft- .19, I have provided a double clutch mechanism consisting of a double ended-clutch ele- Inent 27, slidably keyed to the shaft l9,h'a v-ing its opposite ends interfitting with two clutch elements, 28 and 29, clutch element 28 being keyed to a section 19 of the drives-haft 19, and the clutch element 29 being connected with the gear 26; Clutch element 27, is operable by means of a forked lever3'0, pivotally mounted as at 31, with a handle 32, having the retaining lever 33 thereonand adapted to hold said forked-lever in any of three positions, as designated-bythe holes at 34, in the .mel'ilbei' 34;. This adjustment can be made to connect the clutch element 27, with both clutch elements 28- and 29, as indicated in the drai'vings, whereby to drive both of the delivery mechanisms simnltaneouslyyor said clutch element 27 can be moved sjuffifcien-tly in one di recti on or the other to dis,-

I have shown and described, it is possible to have :three sheets of work coming from the printi'ng press and delivered from either or both of the delivery mechanisms at thexsame time, that is, one sheet can he deliveredin flat and unfolded condition, while one or two sheets can be delivered from the foldingand delivering mechanism in the manner described, and either can be discontinued at only thing which is necessary is to manipulate the clutch mechanism just described. If it is desired, for example, to change the flat sheet A, from the flat delivery mechanism 9, it is only necessary to sever the sheet A above the folding born 10, and direct said sheet A around the folding horn and down into the folding rollers 11 and 12. It will also be evident that from the folding mechanism, it is possil'ile to sever the paper above the folding horn and direct over to the rollers, 13, 13. and it will he delivered in flat condition from this delivery mechanism, thus making possible to deliver either folded work or flat worl: separately or simultaneously and with a minimum of effort and loss of time.
I do not limit the invention to the details of construction and arrangement shown for illustrative purposes except as I may be limited by the hereto appended claims.
I claim:
1. In combination with a printing press for deliverin printed sheets continuously therefrom, of a folding horn to receive the paper and guide it to folding rollers, folding rollers to receive and fold said paper, a guide roller for guiding said paper to said folding horn, other rollers parallel with said guide roller to receive said sheet therefrom moving above said folding horn, said latter rollers being positioned at substantially right angles to said folding rollers and all of said rollers being fixedly supported, for the purpose described.
2. In combination with a printing press adapted to print a plurality of continuous sheets, a guide roller over which said sheets pass from said press, a folding born for guiding some of said sheets to folding rollers, folding rollers to receive and fold said sheets, other guide rollers at right angles to said folding rollers and positioned to receive a sheet from said guide roller independently of said folding horn, power mech anism, operative connections for driving said folding rollers and said other guide rollers for delivering folded work and flat work, and clutch mechanism for controlling the driving connections to said various rollers.
3. In combination with a printing press, a guide roller to receive the printed sheets from the press. a folding horn adjacent said guide roller, folding rollers to receive the sheet from said folding horn, other receiving rollers positioned to receive paper from said guide roller over said folding horn and independently thereof, delivery mechanism for delivering said sheet in flat form from said other receiving rollers, power furnishing connections for driving said several rollers, and means for controlling said connections whereby to drive both or either at will, for the purpose described.
4. In printing mechanism, means for dolivering the printed sheets therefrom, including a guide roller, a folding born to receive the sheet from said guide roller, folding rollers to receive and fold the sheet; from said folding horn, other receiving and delivering rollers positioned at substantially right angles to said folding rollers and fixedly supported in front of said folding horn whereby to receive sheets from said guide roller above and imlependently of said folding horn, means for driving said folding rollers and said other receiving rollers, whereliiy sheets can be delivered simultaneously from said guide roller to said folding rollers over said folding horn and also to said other receiving rollers, and means for controlling the operation of said driving connections. substantially as and for the purpose described.
5. In printing mechanism, delivery mccbanism for receiving and dcliverinf folded sheets therefrom. other delivery me .:hanisin for receiving and delivering flat sheets in unfolded ondition therefrom. said mecbanisms being simultaneously operable, driving connections for connecting a source of: power for driving said mechanisms, and clutch means for controlling the connections, whereby to drive both simultaneously, or either separately and independently of the other. said delivery mchanisms receiving said sheets from a common roller.
6. In combination with a printing press having a delivery roller for deliveriiu: plural sheets continuously from said printing press, a folding horn below said delivery roller to receive a. sheet therefrom. folding rollers under said folding horn. delivery rollers cooi'ierating with said folding rollers. other rollers in parallel relation hip with said delivery roller and forwardly of said folding horn whereby a sheet from said delivery roller moves above said delivery ho n and spaced therefrom to said other rollers. said latter rollers being positioned at substantially right angles to said folding roll ers, driving means for driving all of said rollers. and clutch mechanism for controlling the drive thereof whereby both delivery roller mechanisms can be operated simultaneously to deliver both flat work and folded work, or either can be operated independently of the other, substantially as shown and described.
